Well I was running out to my fathers for a little bit...got pulled over by the only cop in town....never told me what i was pulled over for ran my license and all...came back suspended...then no insurance and then he proceeded to tell me afterwards i was speeding 42 in a 30...i looked at my speedo when he flew up on me and i was doing 35 in a 30 i didnt argue about that or anything else...no point in it...then he told my girl i was doing 42 in a 35 same as my father...so he searches me then grabs the knee i just had surgery on and messed up my staples....( i wanted to punch him but didnt ) after im in the back of the car i asked to see the radar and he said it didnt save it...then 10 minutes later he hits this little button and puts the gun away...so i sat in the back of the car for 45 minutes and saw my 4x4 truck get towed away like a 2 wheel drive car...that pissed me off a little bit...use to work for a tow company and i know thats a no no...so tomorrow ill get everything straightened out pay for everything i need to and get my truck back...but im not looking for sympathy if i wanted that i would find it in the dictionary between shit and syphilis...but thats my bad news for today...and hope get my insurance and get my license cleared ill be able to drop 2 of the 3 tickets...

that blows, hope you get it back soon and dont have a hefty bill to go along with that...

dont drive without a license, why was it suspended in the first place? Why couldnt your girl drive it away?

i came down from wi so im unsure why was suspended...tried to get in illinois for a long time...and the cop was just being a douchebag and trying to get his qouta...he said since i was driving suspended and no insurance we couldnt move it another foot just incase of an accident...ive had other people i know get pulled over they got there ticket and drove off...my girl is valid and he said no im towing it...my father lived 5 miles down the road she could of drove it there and parked it until we has insurance...i didnt worry about insurance cause im leaveing SATURDAY for texas...so why start a policy here in illinois then have to change everything over again and all...but on the good note my girls parents are gonna help me out get shit straight until im back on my feet then ill pay them back...kinda need the truck to move lol...but im sitting here many hours later and still have cuff marks on my wrists a little tight i think...aint the first time arrested but this is the first time for a bullshit reason...im gonna try to get the 2 tickets dropped and maybe fight the 3rd i have a mandatory court appearance so i have to call the da and see what he/she says about it since im moving...if i have to drive 20 hours for a court date minus well fight it for my gas money...

sounds like bullshit on the cops part and you should have had insurance. You can always have to court date moved up. Just go in and explain to them why you need it moved up.

ya im not thrilled...yes i was in the wrong for not keeping up on my drivers license and no insurance...cant argue that but when he says i was speeding and just had new tires on the truck and just checked my speedo with my gps and know its right on....i think the speeding was a bullshit charge and he had nothing better to do...right now all im worried about is getting my license insurance so i can get my truck out...i dont let people use my truck cause im possessive over it let alone what happens when they impound them...really weird when i wake up look outside and dont see it...but the cop said get ahold of the da this after noon and talk to them...said i can probably get the 2 charges dropped and just have to go for the speeding ticket...but ill let everyone know whats going on

I think smell a possible lawsuit coming, even though you were driving on a suspended license and no insurance, the officer had no right to act like. Not only did he not save the speed on his radar like he was supposed to, he also may have messed up your knee and may have seriously fucked up your drivetrain. I suggest talking to an attorney, this officer has a serious superiority complex that is possibly costing taxpayers unnecessarily.

...and saw my 4x4 truck get towed away like a 2 wheel drive car...that pissed me off a little bit...use to work for a tow company and i know thats a no no...
How is this?

And I probably would have informed the cop of your recent surgery when he said he was going to pat you down. They must have given you some warning, they don't surprise you with it, do they? I've never had it done. (On cops they always ask if you've got anything on you they should know about lol)

they towed my truck with a regualr tow truck not a flatbed... i.e ( 2 wheel stinger like a car dolly ) and i told the cop twice cause i had a cane with a sword in it that i told him about...also told him that i have 6 staples in my left knee...when he grabbed them i jump and he said i made him nervous...i said u just grabbed ahold of my staples...he said no i grabbed ur upper knee...dont matter i just had KNEE SURGERY...i may talk to a lawyer once i get this move over with and all...called for insurance this morning...gonna cost me 59 to start it since have not been in trouble since 9-17-08 so thats at least a stress reliever...so im gonna get everything else done and get my truck back then ill worry about everything else

You can tow a 4x4 without a flatbed, you can lift either the front or the back. If you lift the rear, it should pull just fine. If they lift the rear, the transfer case should be in neutral (don't be turning the transmission) I wouldn't worry about drive line damage.

As for the cop hitting your knee...i guess he was just being a prick!

and primus i concur...but its little old me against the cops...probably be more money then its worth...depends on if they drop the other 2 tickets or not...if they do i may not and forget about it...if they dont then i will...no insurance ticket is a 2000 dollar ticket in illinois...so ill be cheaper to get a lawyer at that point...if they drop the no insurance ticket and suspended ticket ill leave it alone...

mr offi"pig"icer told me that it was like a 2000 dollar ticket and 2000 grand bond...i found that kinda weird when he just held my suspended license...and fingerprinted me and let me go...i was like really...i called the tow company 175 for the tow and 40 a day storage...so after everyting ill have to pay like 375...aint bad but could of been prevented on my part...i also understand that u need to prove that u had it when i got popped but this is my first offence for no insurance so i may be able to get it reduced at least...but im going by what he said may happen...but corrupt cop...so i dont know what to believe...im gonna do research now...as for the other tickets if they get dropped awesome...but i doubt it had a operating while revoked in 08 so ill see since ive had a clean record since then...

There is no requirement for the officer to save, let alone show you the radar gun after pulling you over for speeding. Shoot, they don't even need to use a radar gun. Corrupt cop? Not likely, you are just speaking on emotions. Hope you get everything worked out. If you knew your license was supsended should have taken care of that a while ago. Might have been the reason you couldn't get an illinois one. As for insurance, never a good reason to not have it. Moving is a bullshit excuse. Just because you are living in Illinois when you start your policy doesn't mean it won't be good when you get to Texas. Did you actually plan on driving all the way to texas without insurance?

didnt know my d/l was suspended...as for not getting an il one i was born in GUAM my father was in the navy and lost my original birth cert...tried to contact them over there for awhile to try and get a replacement...i have my decorative and the state wont take it due to it not being notarized...as for them towing my truck they towed it from the front...i use to work for motoridge towing in tomah wi and ive seen a guy tow a truck that was 4x4 with a reg tow truck...he put the transd and transfer case in neutral well something happened and it locked up and tore up the transfer case good...so i ask the cop for a flatbed and he told the company that also...but they showed up as with a regular tow truck...as for speaking out of emotions probably...i never said i was right but when the cops story keeps changing...grabs my knee...and then plays all buddy buddy at the end of the stop im thinking something is wrong...as for the radar gun in illinois if u ask they have to show u...my cousin got stopped for speeding he asked to see it and the cop told him no...well my cousin fought it told the judge what happened and the ticket was dropped...but i know its not like that in every state...i know in wisconsin they dont have to show u...

Cops are required to show you what they have you clocked at on the radar gun if you ask. At least that is the way it is out here as I understand it.

same as illinois...im quite cranky with the whole thing...my in laws are gonna loan me the cash to get everything done insurance d/l and truck out cause we are moving with them...then once i get a job in texas have to pay them back...no big deal...just sucks it happened the first day they where here...i cant get mad really at anyone but myself i was in the wrong for 2 of the charges but that cop was a dick...and he could of let my girl drive it away to my dads cause i had all of my kids in the truck and my girl is prego...so could of been handled way differently...i accept what i did was wrong not saying that i was right in anyway shape or form...so tomorrow ill be 100% legal again and not have to worry about it...but gonna cost me like 450 for everything which is not as bad as i thought...could of bee alot worse

yep i had to carry one for multiple speeding, driving after suspension ( all the way up to 4th ) and driving after revocation... i worked an hour away from home and had to be to work about time my son had to be school started and working for 8 an hour couldnt afford to have my ex run me back and forth to work....figured i would explain so i didnt get slammed...but was it smart no i had to pay more in the long run...but thats why i had to carry obne...when i asked why my crap was suspended they said cause ur insurance ended...i said im living in illinois now so the let me reinstate without sr22 which was nice...but i have it just in case i need it now :) ...now all legal to move to texas and not have to worry about cops and all on the way down
