The last week or two I've been flirting with the idea of hunting down an R/T. I really like the idea of having a 360 to play with, plus I love the look. One thing makes me a little hesitant about an R/T is the fact that I live in an area that can get quite a bit of snow, although I do drive a service rig for my DD right now so that's not a huge issue. There's a couple other obstacles, like the wife but just kind of sniffing around. Found this truck not far from where I live:

Does that look like an allright deal? Of course the bra would have to go first thing. How do you guys that drive in snow and ice do with your rigs?

Looks like a sweet low mileage truck but they can be bought a LOT cheaper. When it comes to snow and ice, it's best to just leave it at home. Very serious traction issues. :sorry:

$10,000 for a 2000 is WAY too much. Even with the low miles. As for winter driving, anything can be driven in the winter.

IMO, 10k is where these trucks SHOULD be valued at. But like Dwight said, they can be found much cheaper. That is a good looking truck. I bet it has been babied since the day it was bought. As long as you learn the limitations of your truck you should have no problem driving in snow or ice... as long as you aren't blazing trails through snow to get to work. :jester:

Yup. ANYTHING can be driven in the snow.

when my cuda was my daily driver, I drove it in all kinds of wintery crap when I was in Colorado. just drive like you expect the ass end to kick out at any moment, and all is good! you can use the extra torque of the 360 to help you power steer around corners

i'm driving mine now.....its a shame but i have to...(work truck!!!)
so far for snow..i got me a set of icebears from hankook, 255/40/17,..on the stock wheels...+ 200 pounds in the back and finaly i get to drive it on any storm..!!

tell ya the truth i rather have stock or taller tires for winter as the lower pro tire will increase the rear end gear, factory 3.92 with a short tire itll increase to 4.10 which youll have more spin problems compared to having a taller gear 3.55s.

As already mentioned, little bit high priced for a '00, even with low mileage. Keep looking. Should be able to find something cheaper, especially during the winter.

As for driving in the snow, also as mentioned, tires make all the difference. My truck is my daily driver. But I bought a set of 15" wheels and Winterfore snow tires to use in the winter. I've driven with the stocck rims and tires in the snow(RSA's) and will never do that again, and I've driven in snow with BFG G-Force KDWS which were very good in the snow, especially for being listed as a high performance all season tire.

That was taken last month, and my truck is highly modified. and probably pushingg 300+hp at the wheels.

Thanks for the advice guys. Reckon I'll just keep my eyes open for a better deal and forge ahead with my 4.7 for now. Getting 4.10 gears and a dtt installed next week.

Wonder why Dodge didn't make the R/T available in 4wd?

4WD would be too heavy and not make it worth wile as a performance truck. I know quite a few of the Syclone owners actually convert to RWD when they turn them into drag racing only vehicles. Saves weight and driveline drag.

we get a good amount of snow in CT where i live. this is my first winter with stock R/T rims. it isn't bad, but isn't great.

I myself don't think 10k for that low of millage is bad. It's hard to find an r/t in good shape with low millage. Granted there are deals out there. I picked mine up for 6k with only 48k miles on it durning the summer time. I drive mine year round and have no problems. Just keep looking and you might find a better deal.

You can buy my r/t if you are intrested. Got an 03 with 37k miles, leather, 4whl discs, chrome wheels. Got some work done with some more goodies in the garage waiting for install. let me know if you are interested. :D Drove it in the winter for 1 year and it was just as you would think...2wd with no weight in the back, can't expect much. Stored it this year because I could.
