Drove my car today about 5 miles and it started to whine when i turned right and then stopped and I went home and checked my car and it looked like spattered oil all over the engine bay and underneath everything is covered in a red liquid looks and little like steering fluid, anyone have this problem? or know what the problem is?

trans? the trans cooler is in the radiator

it depends if it's a line, the cooler, and external cooler, etc.

don't replace the radiator....

if it needs a cooler, buy an aftermarket trans cooler, ~$50 and some hose and clamps, mount it in front of the radiator and it will do a better job.

Just another opinion............:stirthepo

Yes it gets on the fan clutch, usually that means the valves are going bad and it won't brake the seal. Sumtimes i just get stopleak!

so it splattered oil or red liquid??

no i do not have that problem.

and the problem is that you are leaking fluid.

What the hell uses red liquid??

I always thought coolant was green..oil black (unless pouring it in - gold), ATF fluid red..oh ATF fluid.

Doesn't the ATF cooler also run INSIDE the radiator? I know in some vehicles if the line breaks inside the radatior your coolant is reddish and if you drain a little out into a jar, let it sit you'll see the coolant be ontop of the ATF fluid (two color liquids in one jar).

This thread just reinforces the sad state of affairs.

It's trans fluid. You have a fucking trans fluid leak. Check the trans level in neutral with the parking brake ON and the truck RUNNING and it should register "full". If it doesnt you have leaked a significant amount of trans fluid (aka red liquid) and if you drive it your transmission will die and your hopes and dreams along with it.

I agree.. trans fluid is red. Can also be used for PS fluid as well.

I'd open up the overfill tank and see if you can see reddish coolant vs green. Then your leak is in your radiator.

Otherwise, as another said, put on some googles, and go searching!

Keep ur bloody marys and kool aid away from top of radiator...check for trans line leaks...check radiator...as stated put on the goggles and look...only way ur gonna know

what color is your coolan? take the radiator cap off and look

There shouldn't be trans fluid on that pulley. I know the clutch for the clutch fan is a viscious clutch with fluid inside, but not sure what color the fluid is. Could be tranny or power steering fluid as Dodge uses ATF+4 in the power steering systems.
