Hello,
I have a 1999 Dodge Durango 5.9L, recently it's been acting up. When I floor it to pass someone, the truck will not go above 3000 rpm. There is no shake like a misfire, just will not go above 3000 rpm, just revs at 3000 rpm, but no shifting or stalling issues. The CEL starts flashing and stops after about a minute. I know that a flashing CEL is a serious misfire or a clogged cat converter. I assume if it was a misfire, the truck would shake like crazy, because its done that before when one of the spark plugs blew. I have used multiple scan tools and for some reason there are no saved or pending codes...
What could it possibly be besides a clogged cat converter and only at hard acceleration and 3000 rpm only?
