Will an 01 r/t use the newer style round key fob or the older square one.

my 2001 QC uses a round almost hourglass shaped one. I would imagine the RT one would be the same

Keep in mind if you don't already have a working fob, you will have to take it to a dealer for programming. The self-programming procedure learns the security codes from an existing fob, it can not extract them from the truck's computer if a working fob is not available.

Ya dodge charge me $65 to program mine. I refuse to pay them!

Going to try dodge up in Austin next weekend an see if I can get it for $20-40

I found a local locksmith that had the OBDII programming tool and he programmed the fobs for my daughter's Jeep Cherokee for $15. Check around to find a locksmith that can do it for you. No need to pay the dealer's inflated prices when you have alternatives.

I prefer the older square one.I recently have got from locksmith one and it's the same old square key.

Instead of hiring a dealer, you can call a locksmith. With the help of programming tools and proper equipment, they programmed the fob perfectly for your car at an affordable price.

I called locksmith brooklyn and they charged $29 for programming.

Self-programming is not possible for me to do that's the reason i contacted a locksmith lawrenceville to program the key.
