So I picked up some non ripped grey/black r/t heated seats also from a 2002 r/t for my 2002 dodge Durango SLT. I already have leather and the power drivers seat, but no heated seats currently installed. What would be involved in adding the option? Is the electrical harness already there? Do i just need to add the switches into the center console? (And add the fuse?) Steer me in the right direction here! :funny:

You need the switch panel and the harnesses that go from the seats to the switches. You may or may not already have the dedicated power feed running to the console. If you do, use it. If not, you will need to either run a new ignition-hot feed for them (it's 30-40A), or tap them off the power seat feed (already fused at 40A) through a relay and just run the trigger wire to an ignition-hot. The power seat feed is always hot, and if you forget to turn the heaters off they will kill your battery pretty quick.

Isn't there some sort of a sensor or module involved in controlling the heated seats so they don't just keep running and get too hot? I don't know which is why I am asking.
Its a self-contained system. Everything is already in the seats and switches (the switches contain the control/sensing circuitry). But the whole thing just requires a switched power feed.

Another question, is the harness for the passenger power seat already there? I got the plug if that's not there just need to know if the wires are there.

Never mind I got it all figured out. I just spliced into the drivers side power seat.

I did. I actually ran it all under the carpet. I didnt bullshit it i soldered and shrink wrapped it. I couldn't find the harness otherwise I would have done it like an OEM setup.

You installed a relay, right?
Nope but I did install a inline fuse under the center console. (So if it blows i dont have to tear up the carpet) it runs off the drivers side relay so there is no reason to add another one.

Ahh OK.. Didn't realize you were talking about just the power seat part
