On the CT forum I was TypeII and at first I felt I "setteled" for the Dakota. Now, I love it twice as much as I did my taco. Here is the original post. If you read it, the first thing the X and S runner guys wanted to do was street race.

I'm a Ct Traitor
thats a bunch of :bs2: , that one guy with a 4x4 toyota truck thing said your truck is ugly (like the 3rd or 4th comment down). his truck looked like a douch bag on wheels. i like your truck. them toyota dickheads dont no crap, which is obvious, because their drivin toyotas

and their website is custom taco? thats gay, they should of made it custom fried rice.

since their toyota website is custom tacos, lets make our dakota website like cutom hotdogs or somthing
u know Tacos, as in Tacomas right? so the hotdog thing would be kinda...really gay

well theres probably people who think were gay for callin our trucks Daks instead of Dakotas...
ok im about to stab u downboi, would u rather drive your dak to the store, or would u rather drive your taco to the store

i think they should get super taco bed strips to match the dakota's super dak bed stripes

Good to see they're all still brainwashed to think the quality/reliability on there things is above Dodge's. It's actually the opposite, the Tundras are some of the biggest POS on the road, there has been SEVERAL discussions on their boards about class action lawsuits for various issues.

My uncle has a 05 XRunner that I get to drive all the time. Fun truck. Mods, K&N intake and Magnaflow exhaust. I like to drive it, mostly cuz it is a 6 spd. The thing about the 6 spd is that it doesnt really have low rpms on the freeway. It still runs about 2000 at 60 if I remember correctly. The 6spd is a close ratio. So no matter what gear you are shifting to next, you are constantly right next to the power band. That is what keeps the truck going. If you take it out of the power region, it aint crap. It falls on its face.

No matter what a V6 puts out, A V8 with the exact same output will always stomp it. A V8 will have more low end tq and hp and keep it longer. Most of these smaller motors (Toyotas and Nissans) v6s that have decent output require some time to get there. Just cuz they peak out decent hp numbers doesnt mean that it is very efficient.

This is all from first hand experience driving the XRunner. Damn thing sticks to the ground though. That thing will stick into a corner like you cant believe. I can outhandle just about anything out there when I am driving it. It makes it more fun.

Not a bad truck though. I think Toyotas quality went down a little with it though. Like the door panels creek. Even when it was brand new. Just a couple little things. Not major. Other than that. I like it. Really fun to drive.

I will see if my uncle will let me take it to the track to get some numbers on it. :mullet: :drive: :woowoo: :mullet: :biggthump

nice...see this is probably what the guy was looking for to begin with :biggthump but hey i seen you said the X handles like nobody's business...and i also noticed you have hotchkis on your dak...how do the two compare? :biggthump

The whole thing is that the XRunner was lighter and probably Hotchkis Suspension. I know for a fact that it was atleast Bilstein Shocks. And handling was one of Toyotas Main concentrations on the truck.

I didnt have FULL Hotchkis. I only had springs and shocks. No Sways. If I had the sways, it would be damn close. It is mainly becuase it takes so much to get these daks to handle and turn cuz the weight. With the XRunner, it is so light, it will just whip around anything. Not to mention the bed. It isnt even a metal bed. It is completely composite(Almost plastic). Which is crappy cuz it makes anything that you put in the bed slide EVERYWHERE. No grip at all. Worse than a normal painted no liner bed. But I would say that the two would be really close in handling. They both have their upsides. XRunner, So light that bumps in the road will shift the truck around turns. The dak has weight. So it feels more solid around turns with bumps.

I never really thought about the two competeing though. I would have to say that a Dak would take it. Not by much, but it would take it. This is of course with good drivers. Dak is just too solid around turns. The XRunner will get thrown off path with bumps.

I want to convice my uncle to let me take it to the drag strip. We have already talked about me taking it to SCCA Autocross races. He wants me too. So I aint going to disappoint him. I'll race it... :drive: :mullet: :biggthump

Ahh, get the sways, they are THE heart of the kit. A kit W/O is nothing compared to one with (I don't have them either yet, just cheap GF kit).

In the test where it did 14.8, what'd it G and slalom?

hey a night out on the town with these two trucks, same exact power and everything, the dak still looks a hell of a lot better and i dont think the girls are gonna be hoppin in that ugly taco....well just stick with our daks and beat them on the track no matter what!

Here are a couple pics of my Uncles XRunner. It has his company logo on it. Which is also the company that I work for.
