Correct me if I am wrong. The tints that were an option were 20% tints. 20% tints means that it blocks 20% of the light that hits the film.

um u might be right but u may be sayin it wrong.. if you go to the store and buy 20% tint then thats how much light its LETTING threw (aka its blocking 80%) most windows are tinted slightly from factory (not even noticable) but thats why if u get pulled over with 20% tint and the cop checks it with his tint checker thing it will prolly read anywhere from 16-12

so far ive been ok with my durango. Its got black tint all around, it even has tint on the windsheild, i know im screwed if the wrong cop sees me :help: it looks so good tho!

So far it's been about 1 month or so. Been through East Germanetown, also cruised Delaware County with the windows up. Haven't attracted attention yet. Where'd you get your tint done?

When I had my fronts tinted, I was asking the owner how dark I could legally go. He said he could go as dark as legal (I forget the specs) or match the rears (illegal in WA for fronts) for cash and no receipt. He was showing me his own truck that was legal at the time.

I opted to go legal, figuring if the shop owner wasn't taking any chances, then neither would I. It looks great, and is only noticable if you are looking for the difference.

Missouri

I had a ticket before, it was only like 50.00 bucks and it was a fix it ticket. You must fix the problem or you can not drive your vehicle legally. Which then if you get caught your in the shit. Here your driver and passenger windows must not be any darker than 35% and the back windows can be as dark as you want. Also the eye brawl across your windshield must not be any lower than the wide of a dollar bill or to the factory safety line. Yes there is a stupid line at the top of your windshield. Anyway that was about it here, they are not a moving violation, which means that you do not get points off of your drivers license. Anyway that is what happened to me here in missouri.

i had 5% tint on a car once. i did nothing but attract attention from the police. i drove that car across country and was stopped twice on that trip (Kansas and Colorado). i got pulled over once in California but the officer was called away while writing my ticket. as he left he said "that tint is too dark but i gotta go". to be honest with you, i couldn't see the side view mirrors at night without putting the windows down. it looked good but it just wasn't practical. i think the factory tint on the dak is fine.
