I have never had any idle problems with my truck till I put different valve covers on. About a week afterward it started having this problem.

I'll start up my truck, and it will idle fine (850rpm), then after it starts warming up the idle will get progressively higher, after I drive it around it and try to stop it will be trying to pull me forward. I put it in park and then it will be idleing at 1300rpm. Also after Im driving on the highway and let off the throttle it will still be going along just fine on its own, then the motor will slow down like my foot is off the throttle, then act like i hit the gas again.

Does anyone have any ideas as to why this is? I keep thinking its the pcv valve but anyone please chime in, thanks

That makes perfect sence actually. I just read the haynes manual and I think that just might be the problem

ok, I just changed out the tps and it still has a progressivly higher idle.

any other ideas?

Check your IAC. It's mounted on the rear of the throttle body. Clean it off but be careful not to spin or push in the plunger or else you'll be buying a new IAC.

believe it or not i had the same problem that drove me nuts for a long time except sounds like mine was a lot worse.

at an idle my truck would idle at around 1800-2300rpm and i couldnt find out why i replaced throttle bodies, tps's, iac's, pcm's everything i could think of and i finally took it to a place i worked at and they found out that it was the front o2 sensor....... wtf? i didnt know that o2 sensors caused that but damn if it didnt fix my problem they said it was because i was running so much fuel from the blower....

I've been having some low/rough idle issues lately and the IAC is relatively new and the IAC/TPS both check out on the scanner. My o2 sensors are original and they are my top suspect, so I wouldn't put it past yours to need them as well if you have checked all the throttle body sensors first.

Sorry for not getting back on in so long, just got back from vacation in Virginia Beach!:mullet: , I will check IAC when I get back home later tonight, I honestly still think its the pcv becasue I never got the backing plate for my valve covers, so like a fool I just put them on. But I have that little piece now, and if its not the IAC I'll change out the pcv. Hopefully its not the o2 sensor because Im lazy as hell!

Changed pcv and still does has progressivly higher idle, the issue is real slight but it gets annoying. I hardly drive my truck because of gas so once it really drives me crazy I'll man-up and look into the O2 sensor. Thanks again for the input though guys
