idont know what it could be but, if i start my car up, theres a ticking noise coming form the engine, n it gets alittle louder when i take off, but then it dissappears. also sometimes after i start the car or mayb if i get off the freeway and come to a complete stop, the car kinda sputters alittle as if it is about to turn off? any ideas

The ticking noise is the lash adjusters IIRC. Pretty common among the 4.7's. Mine does it too. As for the sputtering, I can't help you. Mine does it too but I haven't had time to look into what it could be. No codes on mine either and I assume yours has none as well?

i only have a small vacuum leak code, and should i worry about the ticking?
the sputtering is weird, its like its being choked off and about to just turn off.
also theres a weird noise if i come to a complete stop and then accelerate gently while turning the wheel alittle, its only for about 3 seconds and it soulnds like something grinding or like a hinge that hasn't been oiled?any idea,

if its any help at all, i just had my breaks done all around and sparkplugs put in

I know this is an old thread but mine has aticking sound just for a few seconds especially when its cold. Is that normal? As far as the sputtering. I think it could be early signs of a fuel pump. Of course that is only a guess but about 8 months ago mine started doing that once in a while. Then one day I was sitting at my friends house and my Durango was running. It sputtered and then died. Would not start after that. I took it to a mechanic and it was the fuel pump. Cost me 600 for the job. I hope this is helpful and not just useless information for you.

Ticking is normal, as for the sputter like its a monster v8 with a harsh idle / about to shut off is normal also.
Its not the fuel pump but just issues with the intake temp and air/fuel mixture. I have had it on the monitor a few times when its done it by driving and coming to a stop. Mostly does it when its just warming up for mine.

Best way I can kind of describe it is the engine slows down and gets to much air and bogs abit and the comp just acts a little funny trying to correct the problem.
It happens in all my tunes and isn't a really big deal.
In my performance tune it can actually shut my truck off when its in reverse in cold weather cause of this.
