i have somekinda wiening noise coming from my pulleys up front, i can't pinpoint exactly where its comming from but i have a hunch its from the water pump. I replaced the engine last year with a used one and its done it since...

I still have my old engine could i take the water pump from that one and put it on this one? Do i need any sealent of any kind or gasket?

its a 2000 dakota with 4.7L

OEM uses a gasket.

Have you checked your tensioner first? They can get pretty noisy when they go.

FYI, torque the water pump mounting bolts to 40 ft. pounds.

well it seems in good condition, their was one idler pulley with slack in it so i changed it from the older engine, i guess i could try and change the tensioner first if its an easyer job

oh, and can i reuse the OEM gasket or should i get a new one? thanks
