i found a 2000 dakota r/t for 1500 bucks. runs and drives, headers, ported tb, tanneu cover, other shit....question is, will the rear fit my durango? i want a posi so bad. and how hard to swap motors?

truck also has a moper pcm.

idk why the guy is selling it so cheap but if these parts will fit my truck, it will be in my driveway, put back together with my parts and prolly sold.
 
Could be a salvage? Personally I would buy it and drive it if you can. or keep it and do a resto on it if its jacked up

body is perfect. and i cannot afford to keep a second vehicle. i would love to but i just cant. i really just want it for the engine and trans and then still make some money off it. cuz i know i could get more then 1500 for a r/t even tho it dont have original motor or rear. i know a dealership i could get 3k for it and they wont even know it.

buy it, part it, keep what you want, sell the rest.

i think i will go with no on that. sorry! if i cant buy it i will tho. i have been searching for a 360 for the longest time and i can get a whole truck for cheap with one so it works out for me. i would reallllly like the posi tho. i hate one wheel wonders!
 
The rear end is not a direct swap. The springs on your Durango go under the axle and on the Dakota they go over the axle. Also the rear in an R/T is 9 1/4" dia and on the Durango is probably 8 3/4"
You have that backwards, the 2wd has the springs under, the 4wd over on pick ups, the Durango has the springs under the axle like the 2wd pick up, at least the ones I have seen. The rears are either a 8 1/4" or a 9 1/4", the R/T is a 9 1/4, the Durango is likely the same.
 
The Dakota PCM will not work in the Durango.

Why are you looking to use the Dakota motor?
