I just came back from Les Schwab. I ordered Amp Sixers with a black center and a machined lip. Tires will be 275-55-20. About $2000 total, out the door.

For the life of me, I can't find a pic of the wheel online. Lesschwab.com and ampwheels.com both are not loading for me!

Hey man looks good .. thats gonna look sweet on your truck

You'll notice a considerable loss in power but will love the look of it. Enjoy man :biggthump

Actually, the setup is only 1 inch more in diameter than what I already have, I doubt I'll feel it at all! know what you mean, though. I have 17's on my wifes Neon, and it is a complete DOG off the line!

Thanks, it took a long time, I must've looked at a billion wheels. I didn't want any blingy chrome wheels, no modular, no real hard, sharp edged styles. I think I choose right, especially for a black truck.

With bigger rims and tires, you usually need more power to get them going. Since there's more rotating mass, you usually also need bigger and better brakes to stop. This is of course in comparison to stock 15" or 16" wheels.

That's the thing, though. The new wheels and tires are essentially the same outer diameter as what I currently have on the truck. There will just be more wheel and less tire. I'll have the new wheel/tire assembly weighed before it goes on, or pull one off to weigh it, and compare it to what I am running now.

I think going to a lot less rubber and from steel to aluminum wheels, I might even get better results!

Believe me, the 20's are much heavier than the stock wheels/tires. I've installed a few sets and the difference in weight is quite noticable indeed. ;)

Nice looking wheels, really looking forward to see how they look on your truck. :biggthump

Those are going to look sweet! Congrats on finding the ones that will work. I know what you mean about the search, it's a big undertaking to find the right fit.

The only type of black wheels I care for are the ones that have chrome on them as well. I think they'll look sweet and give that stealth look to it.

Definitely weigh them to see what the difference is going to be. I'd be curious to see who comes out ahead.

How long till they arrive?

It's not just the weight, but where weight is located also. The more outward it's located, the more rotating mass it creates. This is why bigger and better brakes are usually needed with big rims.
