Where is the best place to buy a yellow top cheap?
also, what size should i get? i love big batteries for some reason (massive CCA's) and my battery tray is pretty big, but IDK if i should really get one of the monsters...

also, i know red tops are starting and yellows are duel porpus, i was thinking about getting a yellow top because i like to leave the radio on for hours while i'm working on the truck, but if they are massively more expensive and need special care, i think i'll pass. is it really worth it to get a yellow just to do that anyway?

I've had really good luck with my Yellow top. Great CCA especially lately with the cold weather has really helped. I would recommend them but for 225 that I payed for mine it ,was a little steep but I bought the biggest one available at the time. I went to Autozone since I was in a pinch at the time for a battery. Since its a sealed battery there isnt anything you have to do to it to maintain the battery life.

well, i know with deep cycle batteries you NEED to drain them and recharge them, or you damage them. i just wasn't sure if yellow tops were like that.
and i'm not too too worried about how it actually cranks in the cold, i have a battery heater i use when it's under 40.

I killed several red tops in my truck before I bought my blue top. Reason I got the dual purpose blue top was for the extra terminals it has that I used to connect accessories instead of trying to put them on the regular battery terminals, and it fit the color scheme of the truck. Plus my truck had a habit of draining the battery when left sitting for several days which is why it kept killing the red tops. I fixed the draining issue.

I have always run the Yellow tops .. just got them at autozone .. that way you can just swap them out when they go bad! I have been through 2 in the past year LOL one was due to a draininig issue, the other my viper fan melted the termainal .. haha but both replaced for free! gotta love the 3 yr FULL replacment warrenty on em!

you want crazy cca's?kinetik,xs power,or if you have a 1000 bucks laying around a cactus cs9000.:D.i run 10 kinetiks in my ram;2 hc2000's and 8 hc2400's.

here's the pics of probably the top three brands of audio batts:

cactus:1,000 bucks about 100 lbs
kinetik hc3800:almost 430 bucks about 87 lbs
xs battery:not sure of price and weight on this one.

i think if you hooked your 10 batteries to the starter you may break the speed of sound when you turn the engine over

:funny: for normal auto use you could try odyssey (sp?) not sure how they compare pricewise.... hold on google to the rescue.... pc925 for 170 on amazon so not cheap but they make them out to be awesome, I've only seen like magazine reviews but they were positive, no personal experience. I had an optima red top bought used at 5 yrs old and it went with the car two years later so they hold up. As far as yellow/red/blue the yellow top doesn't need any special care that I could see from optima's website and should power the radio as long as you want.

What a waste of money can you even stand to turn it up? My stock stereo is loud enough. Imagine how fast it could be if you didn't throw your money away on stereo equipment you can't even use to its potential because it's too much. Unless you're deaf and have to feel the music what was the point?

now here is the thing with the yellow top, would i be able to get away with having the radio on longer and having the truck start because it's duel porpus, or would it still drain to not being able to crank just as fast?

Rep adobe, dumb shit...

If i understand it right from the wording on their website you should be able to drain longer and still have enough to get started. check it out optimabatteries.com
