i bought a NV3500 to put in my R/T this winter and was wondering what kinda powder they will hold? im gonna get a T56 in a couple years but for now im hoping that the NV will take the abuse. ill be using my truck for autoxing and DD. any input will be appericated

Thanks

Brian

They also use the NV3500 the bell housings bolt patterns are indentical. There are atleast 3 different versions of the NV3500 but they are all the same. I would look for NV3500 HD but since you have yours already. Your also going to need a 360 Flywheel from a Ram with 5 speed option. Im not sure about the computer side of it because I think the Dakota and Rams computers are totally different. I know the 99 Dakotas came with a 5.2l 5 speed options and their computers are different from the Automatics

wow... I love the lack of knowledge around these parts.

The NV3500 was used with both the 5.2 AND the 4.7L. I know, I own one with 4.7 w/ the NV3500.

lack of knowlege. Thats a good one. Its amazing how me leaving the word "too" or "also" out will yield this kind of reaction. But I guess thats what i get for just answering some one elses side question. If I would have bothered to list that it also is attached to 5.9s i would have to say that that was for the rams, and go into more detail. Better yet I would have to list that there are 3 different versions of the nv3500 used in dodge trucks. the base, the nv3500 LD, and the nv3500 HD, and the fact that they even came with different gear ratios. Even more still the fact that even chevy/gm use the nv3500 as well and then list all the vehicles that use them and their gear ratios. But you see none of that pertains to either question now do they? but sure lack of knowlege...

oh and for slowR/T, the computer issue: I think B&G does a reflash option to get rid of the auto transmission configuration programing in your PCM to get you all squared away. But im sure you knew that. Sorry i dont know what kind of power they can handle.

nv-3500 - 300ft.lbs
nv-3500hd - 340ft.lbs

They can take a bit of a beating. Just as long you don't dump the clutch at 6,000rpms at every light. lol!!! You'll be fine, a few guys run SC 5.2 and 4.7 with the nv-3500 and had no problems.

With my lack of knowledge I typed "NV3500" into google and came to this link. http://dodgeram.org/tech/transmission/nv3500_spec.htm
