Changed out the battery in my jeep today, now it wont idle gotta hold the gas to keep her goin.... I cant remember how to but im pretty sure the pcm just needs to reset. Just drive it around? I cant for the life of me remember, and i just told someone how to do it a few weeks ago lol

aiight to reset the pcm, take the NEG. side off. put the key in the ignition and turn it to "on" for 15 seconds. then turn it off. put the battery back on, and the speedo should be at max mph. to get iot back to 0. drive it around above 15mph. that should reset the pcm. other than that, idk

Sounds like a bad battery. That is what mine did, I had to replace it. Your speedo shouldn't peak like that after reset. Mine never did

Usually the PCM does NOT need reset for a simple battery swap. Just needs to relearn its settings. Same thing when a battery is weak, needs to build up some juice or these Chryco vehicles just won't idle.
Thats what I ment.... relearn... relearn - reset, potato - patato lol

mine was dead the other day and when i jumped it it wouldnt idle either. happens to most dodges. drive it for a min or two and it fixes itself. kinda annoying to use two feet to drive though lol

it has nothing to do with the ECU,its all about the battery having at least 13.? volts, which when you installed the battery it did not have.after a few minutes of driving (charging) the battery was at a sufficent voltage and the idle problem was solved.some people read into this issue to much, when all they needed was to put the truck on a charger for 10-15 minutes.

If that was the case, when an alternator fails it would stall at a stop light/sign whenever you were running on only battery and under 13 volts. I've seen vehicles drive and not stall or have any issues and be running on 8 volts and not stall until they got to about 6 volts. I had the battery checked before I left the store because there are a lot of batteries that are bad right off the shelf and mine tested out perfect, i forget the exact voltage. But, anyways.... ive installed a lot of batteries and a lot of chryslers seem to have this problem.... I believe that its the computer just needing to reset/relearn everything. Thats just me though. Not saying youre wrong, but thats just my personal experiences
