Have a '02 Durango (no running board), and would like to put mud flaps on.. The local Dodge dealer has them for $40 a pair... Does anyone know if you need to remove the rear tires for install? Is this something I can do with a screwdriver... or am I drilling into the bumper/wheel well?
Thanks for your help!! The dealer wants 1/2 hour labor per axle... seems high :bs2:

:banana2: The Dodge dealer mudflaps are installed using the holes already predrilled from the factory in the fender wheel lip. The holes are there because of the flares. You probably could install them yourself provided you have a "stubby" screwdriver for the rears. Otherwise you have to take the rear wheels off to install them.

I have the dodge rear mud flaps and the directions do say that you have to drill one hole on each side. It is easier with wheel off but not impossible with it on. Just more room to work!

Muds

I put on after market muds for my 02 Dur and I was able to put them on without pulling the tires. It required one whole that wasn't predrilled at the factory, but with the stock 17" R/T rims and tires I was able to get a drill in there without too much of a problem. If you have larger rims and tires than stock it could be an issue.

I know this is kind of an old post but that just means there may be more opinions out there.
I have been looking for some flaps and found many different kinds. Ebay has a lot of the mopar flaps but most are only 10"wide. While others are 11" and one set was 22 1/2" tall. I need something to fit the factory flares. The gravel and slush is dingin the crap out of the flares and the nerfs. I kinda like the Husyliners . It looks like they are molded around the flare. What are y'all useing?

Goto advanced auto parts, or autozone and pick up some molded ones and put em' on...its easy and you'll pay have of what you would at the dodge dealer.

I did, but returned them as they didn't fit right and looked bad.

I removed my tires to install the RAM ones, went faster in the end.
