Thanks...

Anyhow, how many full turns to lower 2" in the front? Is is one per 1/2 inch? Or is it one per 1/4"? And you turn the bolts themselves not the actual torsion bars right?

i did 12 turns, but the front wasn't even, so I ended backing it up to 10

Here's my DURANGO 360... 2 1/8" drop in the rear and 2" in the front. :mullet:

bigger picture please

holy giant pic lol

More? The truck was parked on a slanted road. I parked it on a flat road and I measured the distance between the top of the tires and the fenders...they're all stop 3".

What did you guys do to deal with the front bumpstops?
My 00 R/T hits them now without a drop.
sounds like you need to swap out your shocks

You need to cut them. Stock, the 4x4 A arms are only an inch or so off the bump stop.

what about shock length?

If you cut the bumpstops and drop the torsion bars, will the stock shocks bottom out before the bumpstops hit? Also, are cut bumpstops going to be thick enough to absorb an impact if the truck hits a deep rut or something?

I cut mine down,It hits but it cushions alittle
Shocks on mine are Bilstens,Not sure about the factory's being shorter-longer

Yeah ill probably be the next one to lower mine. I just gotta buy a set of rims and tires before i lower it so i know what to get. I was gonna raise my durango r/t but my last truck was an s-10 xtreme lowered on 18"s so im still in love with that lowered look. I just gotta get a set of 20's now for the rango. CANT WAIT!!!! :banana2:

Ordered the 3 inch rear block kit from stylin concepts. Should have it middle of the week can't wait, will post pics once installed. YES! :biggthump
Just curious. Are the rear suspension on the R/T Durangos different from the 2WD Ds? If they're the same, couldn't you use dropped leaf springs, as well? Belltech sells 2in rear leafs and you can use a 1in block to lower it 3 in. Just a thought.

been waiting on you to drop yours for almost a year now :jester: get on with it.... :biggthump

NO KIDDING MAN!!!
I HEAR YA! I can't believe that after months of me asking about a good way to do it last year that all of sudden 4 guys drop their R/T's. Man what a difference a year makes. I was so friggin surprised today and so DAMN happy that other people had dropped their D's and it worked great.
UNBELIEVABLE!!
I spent so much time trying to research the best way to drop it that I should have just done it and figured out improvements after the fact.

Well, the main reason why everything was on hold was that I got laid off last June and spent 7 months unemployed so... needless to say no major mods.

After a grueling 7 months, I finally got the job I was waiting for.
So, after paying off some debt, modding is back.

THANK GOD FOR THAT!!!!
