I have a 04 dakota with the 4.7 motor. It has 35000 miles on it. when im just sitting at the light it starts to idle a little rough, then when i let off the brake it starts to shake when the truck is creeping. I dont know what it could be. no codes on or anything either.

Pretty common if the throttle body gets dirty as well as the iac going to it. You can take it off and clean it (the throttle as well as the iac going to it).

Edit: :(
Errr! Okay, I'm a tool. I was refering to the idle air cotrol motor, not the position sensor. negative karma time for me, hahah!

is there a sticky on how to properly clean the TB and IAC? I just want to take precaution so I dont tear anything up.
it would be hard to tear up the sensors, but just remove them and wipe the IAC off. it will probably be black and it should like a brass color.

Yup, you won't mess anything up.

The TPS (again top sensor) is non-serviceable. Just remove it and set aside.

The IAC has a plunger on the end that will need cleaned off, some solvent (any kind of parts cleaner) on a rag and wipe it off.

For the TB, use some brake parts or carb cleaner, hose it all out very well, then use a toothbrush, q-tips or whatever to get the nooks and crannies. Give it another shot of cleaner when done to rinse any other loose junk out.

one quick stupid question... do I have to take that plastic piece that says magnum 4.7 V8 to get to the throttle body? Also... the IAC is connected to the throttle body? thanks for the help guys.
