Thanks man! I am not running a body lift, small suspension lift. Get a link up here in a sec.
No prob. I thought I saw a bit more frame than usual and was going to ask about your side bars IF you had a BL.

Ah okay, coulda been the camera angle I used when shooting the pic. The chrome nerf bars? They are from Aeries (like $200) and bolt into the cab frame mounts and one little piece goes up into the underside of the body in the rocker area.

Do you have a body lift on your truck and want to add bars? I'm sure you could make an extension piece or flatten out the one in the kit, it has a bend in it.

That's when you blend into the next panel so you can't see the transition
That was in the original plan, but... didn't happen and I can deal with it, for now. Lol. It's all green again and that's the important thing and number 1 thing I wanted to accomplish. NO BODY RUST.

The 90-95% of people on the roads who see it and anyone that actually looks at my truck won't know or notice. In certain light it's obvious, but I don't mind. Looks good for painting in an apartment garage with plastic up.

But thanks for taking the time to stop and look at/read my thread.

Hey - I am not critizing - you did a great job. I do not have any skills with this stuff - just what I can pick up from here and Google. You saved yourself a lot of money by doing it yourself, plus it's cool to be able to try something new. I was quoted $2000.00 to fix my box - my truck is barely worth 2 grand so I bought a couple of body panels and went at it. It turned out better than I had expected but I kept trying to perfect it. Anything we can do to extend the lives of these trucks :)

I know man and I appreciate it! :D I was a newb at this, the only painting I had done before was on an '89 Honda crx with an hvlp gun and trim black lol. My truck turned out better than I thought it would.

At first its costly, I had to buy a gun and regulator, filter/dryer and other crap but do 2 or 3 vehicles and you save thousands. Thank goodness I got my compressor for x-mas. My future wife's car needs hood repaint and rockers replaced. Same with my truck, I bought 2 panels and front fenders and went to town. I had to keep telling myself it's not a show truck and perfect so just make it green again. :jester:

its still a bitch though. Ive been doing it for a while, and I have a keen eye for blending.

Yall COULD move down here to prolong the life of the truck :D the south has no rust at all :D

Also, just to be mean, is it bad that a Alaskian truck, that was there for 10+ years, that is now in my driveway has little to no rust:D

Do they use salt on the roads up there? Or liquid brine, like ohio, shit sticks to everything and every time it gets wet, it is reactivated. Cosmoline is the way to go! Possibly POR15 if you already have surface rust in the bottom side.

no salt, no brine, nothing. Only sand when absolutely needed.

^^^THIS!^^^

That is the way to go! Sand and cinders. I really think it would be easier and cheaper to find alternatives for road treatments rather than building vehicles to withstand corrosive materials.

yes, but car companies have stock in that shit. so alternatives would be hard pressed to get a trend going.

This is true. And I guess the city south of my work tried beet juice and it was staining people's paint.

Nothing is good for a car supposedly....
