Hey guys, so the durango is no more. So this is what happened. I went out for a mountain bike ride at a friends house, all went well had a great time. So I headed home. I pulled out of his street, then I pulled out onto another street, and pretty much pulled out in front of a shitty ford f 150. The guy nailed me at full force on the driver side rear door. The rear door glass shattered, and the driver door won't even stay closed. From what I could see, the car is going to diffently get totaled. So this is the second car in 5 months that I wrecked. The guy was hauling ass, and he did not even see me, and from what I could tell did not even slow down. There is a skid mark from him that is a good 25 feet. The cop ended up giving me a citation for failure to yield, and I think the other guy got a ticket, but I don't know for what. So now I am hoping that my insurance does not decide to drop me, because of these two accidents in this short amount of time. I really have to access my driving habits, as it seems like I am driving sloppy as hell lately. Well, everyone drive safely out there, and it was a pleasure knowing all of you, and take care of those durangos and Dakotas. I have to go out to the shop tomorrow that it got towed to and figure things out. I will also take some pictures of it. Also if it does get totaled, would anyone ever want the cat back flowmaster system that I put on it recently, as it is only a month old. Well you all have a good one.

How much for the catback system?

I'm interested. Very sorry to hear about your Durango btw. Very sorry. What would the other driver be cited for? Did you not check to see if there was anyone there when you turned onto the street?

Not sure yet about what I want for the catback, I am going to have to look into it, and see if they total the car which I think is going to happen. As for looking before I pulled out, I did and the guy was going quick as hell and I misjudged how fast he was really going. All I really know is that this really just hit home for me, and I am going to miss this truck a lot if it is in fact totaled which I think it is. Also I am not sure what the other guy got a ticket for, I am going to have to look into that.

Sorry to hear about that but at least youre willing to admit that you were driving sloppy and you were at fault. Most people woudl blame the other guy no matter what

Yeah, it sure was, also I had just washed and waxed it the day before. That driver door was so wedged that I had to kick it a bunch of times to get out. I am also very suprised that I walked away, if I was to get hit dead on on the driver door, I think things would have been ugly. I am also going to have to play it by ear in terms of parting it out, not sure yet what is going happen as this happened in the last 24 hours. Also if this had to happen in a unperfect world which it did, I am just happy it was not my ranchero.

yea man looks like to me its gonan be a write off, my sister in laws 03 got hit in the side not near as bad as that both doors still opened and closed didnt break windows just bent the B piller and rocker pretty good (not quite as bad as yours) and they wrote it off....good luck man let us know if your gonna part it out, glad to hear your ok

Even though the damage is repairable the insurance company will look at the cost to fix it versus (about 80% of) the present value. Since the value is so low it's not worth it to then to shell out money for a repair. It's a bean counter's world...

Sorry, but my good friend went through this a while back with his 1994 Suburban. It was entirely fixable, but the insurance company totaled it. He bought it out of salvage and had it repaired along with another $2000 out of his pocket. There was no way he could get a replacement Suburban as nice as his for anywhere near $6000. Plus he didn't want another car payment because of someone else's bad judgement.

Hey guys, so I just got the bad news that the insurance company decided to total it. So I guess that is that. So now I am hoping that they decided to give me a decent amount of cash for the settlement, and with that I might buy a jeep Wrangler. It seems as if the insurance company's do not want to fix anything these days. Well have a good one.
