Flowmasters are fun for awhile but i hated mine in the long run. Was louder at idle then at full throttle, so cruising was deffening. I had a cherry bomb that had the same sound but less inside annoyance. Im also a huge fan of borla mufflers, only thing i stand by now. Not sure how they sound on the 5.2/5.9 motors thow, I have one on my 4.7

I went to the local parts house, bought the factory tailpipe for $35, and a Flowmaster 50 series for $120. Went home, cut 2" off the pipe coming out of the cat, bolted it up, and done. Quite pleased with the sound, sounds good outside, but not a lot of annoying drone in the cab. Next I'm gonna get a nice weld-on tip, and that's it. I've always used Flowmasters, and love em!

no trying to thread jack. But has someone ever compared the flow of the magnaflow vs the flowmaster. I'd think the Magnaflow would flow better because it doesn't have all the baffles that flowmaster puts in there mufflers.

flowmaster super 40 with a turn down. Deep sound and loud. Short trips it's ok. Long trip I have to pop in ear plugs. Going to pick up on of those over axle pipe from dyno max see if that helps

I agree...I could see straight through the one I put on Little Blue Guy....

Dont forget,Magnaflow carries a liftime waranty.

No love for spintech? I love mine. its one of the only mufflers I've ever heard that doesn't get ricey on the 3.9. You do have to run a tail pipe or the reverb makes it obnoxious.

I got plenty of love for Spintech,

I have 1 on my Dakota and a pair on my Barracuda. My brother liked mine so much, he put a pair on his Super Bee.

I've seen videos of the Aero Turbine. It would be my second choice.

Always liked the Flowmasters.I've had em on so many vehicles its not funny.I do however have Magnaflows on the wifes Magnum R/T because I wanted it to be quiet, and it is.Dynomax always had a decent sound as well.

Exhaust sound is very subjective, every one has a favorite.

Hers a little clip of my Dak with dual 40 flows.

What no rev? Lame! :jester:

Magnaflow! I used to be flowmaster only but not anymore.
X2 :mullet:
16 years with Flowmasters on a '92 RC 5.2, and the '01...
Last 2 years with Magnaflow.
I've used 22" mufflers in both cases; minimal interior resonance with no loss of performance. My general take on a comparison is that Flowmasters are "raspy" and Magnaflows "purr".
But yeah; the beauty is in the ear of the beholder LOL.

im running a super 40 with dual exit dumped under the bed sounds good inside from a distance i couldnt tell ya im the only one whoe drives me r/t lol
