im looking to get a lil more pep out of my dak (woulda helped if i got an v8 but i hav a v6) i looking for more acceleration off the line basically and not sure what to get a custom flash or a superchips tuner or maybe even gears, im on a budget so i cant get more then one (as of now) and if im gonna spend the money id rather get which ever will give me more noticable results.

what do u have done so far? If u dont have ANYTHING done, id say start with porting ur stock, or getting a V8 tb. Just do all the little things that everyone else does, like me :biggthump Autolite 3923s, I ported my keg, tb, got MSD Blaster Coil for 30 bucks, 180 t stat, and got a cheapo Edelbrock intake from Autozone. I know it doesnt pull the cleanest and coolest air into the engine, but it does allow A LOT more air than my stock intake assembly. If ur lookin to spend money on only one thing, i would say gears though. If u dont have anything extreme done to ur engine, ur stock PCM can keep up and u probably wont feel much from a flash.

Best mod for the buck is be far  but i'd be carefull with that v6 tho
either u really like Nitrous, or u just really like that smiley  But nitrous is definitely the best bang for the buck. U can safely and easily run a 75 shot or maybe even a 100 depending on ur engine status. But if ur just lookinf for 0-60, gears is definitely the way to go.

currently my truck is off the road for the winter, one baby away for winter another one taken out (2003 Ski-Doo Rev 600 H.O.) the lowering part is DEF gonna happen no doubt about it. the V8 part prolly not gonna happen, as the sayin goes you gotta play the cards your delt (until u have enough money for a new hand) but in this case i have a perfectly workin V6 with 45K on it so im gonna do what i can with what i hav for now. so now back the topic on this post if gears are my best value which size?

gears u should get probably would be 4.10s...but with the cards ur dealt thing, while the engine u have now still has low mileage, u can make more money off of it when u get ur V8. And if ur gonna think about dumping more money into that six banger, just think about the fact thats its gonna take a lot of money to make it as fast or faster than a V8, without using nitrous.

Do you have an auto or stick? What size tire do you run? Such as 255/65-15, etc.

im not looking to make it faster then a V8 as i said before im just looking for quicker acceleration. and gears sound like what im looking for. btw im very happy with my V6 and dont plan on gettin ride of it for a while. thanks for your input though.

Gears will definatly give you the get up and go off the line your looking for. What gears do you have now (check sticker in glove box)? If you have 3.55's i would replace with 4.10's. if you are currently running 3.92's you'll want to replace with 4.56's.

yea exactly what he said...3.55s got to 4.10s. 3.92s go to 4.56s. i dont know from experience but i hear going from 3.92s to 4.10s is a waste, theres not really a noticeable difference

i doubt hes got 3.92s, but i think 4.56s will be hella overkill. Hell be doing 70mph in 5th gear at 3k+ RPM
It all depends on how/where you drive. If 90% of your driving is local (city) 4.56's would be fine (you'll gas milage should increase). if you drive highway often you'll probably not want 4.56's.

if hes looking for budget mods i doubt gears would b that. 200 for the gears 70 for the install kit and atleast 200 for install. maybe getting a superchips would be a better idea?
