So I'm a huge fan of the look and sound of dual exhaust. What I would like to do sometime in the near future is cut out most of the factory pipes from the cats on back and run pipes to dual mufflers. My durango is a 2002 5.9 r/t. I'm curious on recommendations of say H pipe, or X pipe. Will I see any performance gains (however marginal). Or would it be better to run the pipes to a single muffler then split out for dual tips? Also recommendations on what mufflers, I had dual flowmasters on the mustang I traded for this durango. Would I be better off with magnaflow, or something else?

The best way to run exhaust on these trucks is to go with true duals with a x-pipe. The problem lies with are you gonna have enough room to run that setup. And also I would go with magnaflow mufflers. Their straight through design is WAY better than the chambered design of the flowmasters. If you can get the duals to work then you will definitely notice a difference. Also look into headers. That's gonna be another good gain in power over the stock manifolds.

Sweet, so my thinking was already more or less on track. Yea I got a look underneath today when I changed the oil... wooo yea not a lot of space to work with. I'm also trying to figure out how I want the tips to come out, angled out from the rear wheels, straight out from below the bumper, or what lol.

What I did.
That is a 3" glass pack/with dual 2 1/2 inch outlet. I omitted the cat. It would have been directly in front of the muffler.
