got a chance at a 98 or so chevy blazer, looked stock or so, v8 vortech, 0-80 run, stayed at my door til 70, at 80 was bumper to bumper and we shut down. very nice run, dak shifted in the right spots and all. :drive:

You mean V6 vortech? All blazers came with the same 4.3 CPI V6.

If it had a v-8 and was 98 It maybe the tahoe, used to be fullsize Blazer. S-10 blazers were 4.3 or lower.

Yep, Blazer only got the a V6 as top engine. Sry, but if it had a vortech 8, he would have mopped you up. It would probably be like racing a Durango with an 318.

my gf drives a 4X4 blazer and compared to my dak i think it would be a close race.

durango 318 stock would get beat senseless by s-10 blazer with stock 350 vortec... :sorry:
I think the point was missed. That if it was indeed an V8 the result would have been more closer to that of the 318 or 360.

How could that be??? I remember some ******* was reving at me awhile back when I was stock. Made him realize that how slow his blazer really was :woot: (Non-4x4)

Well if it had been a 1983 De Lorean pushing 1.21 jigawatts and you were driving a 1992 Ford Festiva then you woulda..............................

Oh wait, that's right, you already explained the race. Nice kill bud :biggthump It's great when they run like ya want em' to when ya want em' to :drive:

The 4.3 Blazers are not that fast. They are a 17 second truck in stock from. I had a 92 S-10 Blazer Sport 4x4 4.3 TB Auto. It was stock and the best I got in the 1/4 was a 17.6 and I raced that truck alot. The new blazer's you might get lucky and get a 16.9 or so.

I have a 98 Blazer 4x4 its pretty quick for its size and being a 4 door 4x4. I'm not sure how it would compare to my dak but then again I cant race myself.

an s-10 model blazer has never been offered with a V8

the most powerful stock chevy s-10's were the supercharged cyclones... and those things would whoop the hell out of some V8 ass

I had one of those. it got stolen. They were 4.3 turbo charged. Soem people think they qwere 3.8 super charged but they werent.
As for the blazer being slow not true. I have a 95 GMC Jimmy and it has a 4.3 and its pretty quick. I dont really race it or anything its getting up there in mileage ( 114 000) so i usually jsut drive it normally. I did race my buddys Tundra with a 4.7 v8 and started to slowly walk him at about 50. took off at abotu 30 stayed together and started to walk him slowly. We both shut down at abotu 55-60.
They really arent as slow as people make them out to be. Besides i ALWAYS love it when people compare their V8s to a V6.

Maybe, maybe not. Jeremy from DD forums, did a best of 16.1 in the quarter w/ a 3.7 extended cab. So, you should have beaten him. However, I don't know his setup. I think it had an LSD, 3.92, not sure stick or auto.

Somthing wrong with that Tundra or crappy driver. Stock for stock. I put down my share of blazers and s-10 xtreme's with the higher rated 4.3. The only time it was close was with my old 3.9. I still won, but it was really close. Like Ben stated that they are 17 second trucks. Or if you want to argue very high 16's. I wouldn't consider that quick at all. I bet family vans could run that. :jester:

My friend has a s-10 blazer 4x4 5 speed manual and i rape that thing all day long man. Nice kill too.

Good kill, those Tundras were way overrated and especially the older 4.7s with on 235 HP were not that quick. If i am not mistaken a newer 4.3 CPI Blazer could hit a low/mid 16, not bad at all for what they were and the CPIs were really night and day compared with the TBI 4.3s, much more so than the "advertised" power ratings would indicate.

The Extremes never came with the higher rated CPI motor the blazers/4x4 S-10s had, only the 4.3 TBI, again, big difference there.
