I went and spent 50 bucks on some of that do it yourself pipe it how you want stuff from pepboys. and it works AWSOME and sound GREAT!

Now on the album the very last picture is of a dumbass who hit my works building! they couldnt pull the truck out cause the wall would have fallen! LOL

Whatca guys think of my cheep little mod

Nice truck!

Thats a nice mod..the filter looks like it may need to go to the left a bit more..
It may get alot of hot air from the manifold where it is.

Is that stainless?..or is it chrome ABS?

Did you notice any improvements in power/MPG?
I have read the 05/06 4.7 does not respond to the CAI too much as the stock airbox is pretty well done.

I think its a stainless when you tap on it it sounds like a metel intake. And as far as the MPG, havnt had it on long enough to know yet. BUT the get up and go is SWEET!

Sweet... Nice Mod.
If you put a magnet on it you can tell if its polished stainless or Aluminum/ABS chrome plated.

If it sticks its stainless... If it does not its either ABS or Aluminum w/ chrome plating.

Please keep us posted on any MPG improvements.

Im testing several setups on mine now.

I can vouch for that! Hopefully my modded CAI will atleast give me a tenth now. Otherwise, no change here.

Nice idea on the intake, but it's not gonna be useful with it sitting right by the exhaust manifold & far back in the engine bay

Warm air = less power

It needs a heat shield and to be up front by the fender so it can suck in some cooler air

if you look in to the air hat on the 4.7. yo uwill see its basically a straight shot into the TB with one lil side hole I guess that goes through the baffles of the air hat. so no real need to get a CAI. just modify the hose and take the air filter holder out. and buy a cone filter. save even more money and less time.

Slick!
Question; What improvements in power and, more importantly, MPG?

Steve Roark is a site sponsor. When your filter gets dirty, look into the new Amsoil filter. It will give you even better breathing, filtering, power and mileage. Anyway, it's Blue and looks better.
