How can you see the air flowing out. Well since you can see it where is is coming from? But air should be going into the intake manifold and not out. If it is indeed just leaking I would just recommend to change the gasket that is in there.

Welcome to another Missouri Dak/Dur owner. Lots of fellow owners in St Louis.

That's wierd, where exactly is it flowing out from? The bottom? the side? One of the vaccuum ports perhaps?

If you have to change the gasket, well there is not 1 gasket there are 8 little gaskets between the manifold and the engine block. That would be unusual, though; I've not read on the forum of anyone having to change their gaskets on their 4.7 intake manifolds.

How many miles does your truck have on it? I had 80000+ when I put on my 4.7 HO intake manifolds, but the gaskets looked good to go.

Maybe just tighten a bolt? If you bought it used, someone may have tuned it up and loosened a bolt while they were changing plugs or something. I don't know for sure, just grasping at straws for ya.

Well I took it to NY last month and it was less then 30 degrees up there when I had the hood up I could see Air coming out around there. Also has like a Wistle when i press on the gas.

Thanks Jason there is lots of Dodge owners in the St Louis area everyone that I work with in Construction drives a Cummins Ram or a Dakota.
My dad had a 1992 Dakota with the 5.2 V8 it went 425,000 with out a motor rebuild or anything thats what caused me to by mine in 02. I love my bodystyle the new ones are ugly in my opinion.

Yeah that is what I was thinking but if it was cold enoguh maybe he was just seeing the heat rising of the heads.

Make sure you check all of the vacumn hoses. The is a place under the fuse box where like 3 or 4 hoses conect together, they like to break there and that would give you a hissing noise. That is all I can think of, just do a thorough inspection of all the hoses.:waiting:
