After seeing you pics of the Level kit, im thinking of getting one alot more now.

 

It will look good with those wheels and tires. I have an 06 2wd and I am putting a 2.5 kit on the front soon. Dodgeforum.com has alot more of our body style users on it.

Oh and the place I ordered from never gave me a shipping confirmation. So I called them. I was told they were out of them and can't get them. So, I found some on ebay but I can't find the bolt pattern spacing. Anyone know what it is?

 

The bolt pattern on our Dakota's is 5 x 5.5, and your stock wheel is 16 x 8 with an offset of 25.44 mm. With a tire of 245 width, I would not go for a rim wider than 8".

So if you go for a little lower of an offset, say somewhere about 18 to 12, the wheel will sit with just about the same stance as your stock wheels do.

The lower the offset, the further out the wheels will sit.

Well, I had already bought the tires to go on the factory rims and changed my mind about putting the off-road tires on the factory wheels after the fact. I got to thinking if I ever take a long trip, I'll swap and put the factory wheels and tires back on.

These are what I ended up purchasing. May have them by the week's end:

 

What leveling kit did you use and how much did it cost ya?

I may be interested in doing that to my 06 4X4.

 

$426 installed. Seems a little high but I didn't feel like doing it myself. I love how it seems more like a truck and less like a car now especially when driving it. I needed to do that after driving a Dodge diesel for quite a while. But I'm giving that truck to my son who gets his license soon.

 

I just called an off-road shop and they quoted me the kit/installed price. I have no idea what kind mine is. Prior to having it done, i read some brands cause some kind of front-end hardware to rub/bump. But after having mine done, I guess they used the right brand cause I'm having no problems at all. What I mean about making it feel more like a truck is because moving from a full size 3/4 ton truck to this thing made me feel like I was in a car. My wife's Chevy Trailblazer sits up higher than it did stock.

My is because that Dodge diesel is/was my baby! I have a diablo sport power puck on it and that thing will scoot! Will boil the tires for quite a ways without power braking it. I may remove the power puck before he starts driving it.

 

I went with zero offset and so now it's a little over 2" wider footprint if I calculated it right. The tires are about 30.5-31" tall over the 29.5" stock tires. I worried about clearance problems, test drove it over dips and bumps going straight and turning, but no rubbing at all.

It looks much better in person than it does here. I'll try to get better pics of it when you can see more about the wheels.

 

That looks pretty damn good. It's tough to see see the wheels in the pics though, they look too black. New pics please...

whats the stock offset for a 2007 dodge Dakota 3.7L ?

 

Same as the 4.7. Offset is 25.4mm, with both the stock 8" wide alloy wheels or the 7" wide steel wheels.

I recently put a two inch leveling kit on it and am doing a three inch body lift next week, just running through some numbers, I want a really wide stance but still a bigger tire, hoping 32' will be no issue ,

 

Below are the tire sizes that you can fit with both a leveling kit and body lift:

3G Dakota tire sizes with 1.5" or 2.0" leveling kit, 3" body lift with minor triming
-285/75/16
-285/70/17
-285/65/18

3G Dakota tire sizes with 1.5" or 2.0" leveling kit, 3" body lift with moderate triming
-305/70/16
-305/65/17
-285/65/18

And keep in mind if you use the stock offset, those wider tires may rub on the front sway bar and frame at full turn.

Dakotaff, you seem to have a lot of knowledge of these Dakotas. I have a question as well. I put a 3'' front 2'' rear on my sons 2005 Dakota (2wd) this weekend. He has 255/65R16 Factory tires. What size can we get away with in the 18'' size? Going to go a little wider as well. I'll try to post pic.

265/65/18 with probably some minor trimming.

285/65/18 with some trimming, which may be serious trimming. The 285 width will also probably rub on the frame and front sway bar at full turn with a stock wheel or similar offset wheel.
