Besides, there is no reason to mail order a part like a cap and pay shipping Just go to the local parts store. A cap with brass contacts is perferred. The NAPA cap is one.

thats still for the LA motors. if you really want to order one, just search by vehicle make and model. i think there are only two different ones that summit sells that will work. one is made by mopar and one is made by summit.

the summit one has brass terminals

this is more like a replacement for original. still has aluminum terminals

i have the summit one. basically the same thing as what you would pick up from napa. i only ordered it because i was getting a bunch of other stuff at the time.

that one is for the old LA's not the newer magnums, wont work
correctamondo my friend.

you can tell simply by the fact the way the cap mounts to the distributor base. the old style LA type, had clips that you pulled up over the bottom of the cap. the magnum caps, have two phillips screws, one on each side.

so now, this will NOT work for your rig. i suggest getting either an accel, msd, or a jegs cap and rotor kit. i got mine from jegs, and it matches my paint scheme...guess i lucked out for one, and its only 20.oo

jegs
part number 555-40410
Distributor Cap and Rotor Kit,
Dodge Magnum V8 Engines, 1992-01
color: Red

they do sell the accel cap and rotors but it looks like they are sold seperate...wtf is that about? comes out to like 21.oo.....12.99 for the cap, and like 7.99 for the rotor. and its black too, which is probably what most people are going to want anyways.

hey man

i dont know about that part number but the accel cap number is 120329 and the rotor is 130328

i would think that the parts for the 318 and 360 where the same but im not 100% sure

kyle
from type to type they are. when using the LA cap and rotor, you can use one from a 273, 318, 340, 360 as far as i know. they are all v8's, and should be the same, unless the diameter is different from the 273, and the 340 motors...but i do know you can swap the 318la cap/rotor for the 360la one

same goes for the 1992-200x magnums. lots of things can be swapped from the 5.2 to the 5.9 and visa versa, except major stuff like cranks and fluwheels. cause the 5.2 is internally balance, and the 360 is externally balanced...never understoof why they do it like that. i always thought that an internally balanced engine is a bit better in certain ways. leads to longer life? or does it?

Just buy a Borg/Warner or Napa cap and rotor. Under $20 for both together. Why spend extra money buying name brand online when the ones from any local parts store will do the same thing. I've had an Accell cap/rotor, and then bought a Borg/Warner one. Spent half as much on the Borg/Warner and when compared side by side, they look exactly the same. Not wasting my money anymore on a big name cap and rotor.

The Borg/Warner and the Accell caps are the same caps, just re-boxed....

The NAPA Echlin Caps and Rotors are also the same parts, just cheaper and in a NAPA box......

None of these companies make parts of thier own, they buy them and Re-box the stuff in a box with thier company name on it!

On a side note.........

The NAPA Mileage Plus Brand parts are Cheap China garbage, spend a few extra bucks on the better Echlin Brand parts.

I work for NAPA, I know where this stuff comes from!
