How incredibly unhelpful. :jerkit: Seriously dude, take your meds.
It's one of three things:
A) The antenna plug has come loose out of the back of the head unit
B) The antenna itself is loose in the fender hole and/or the mount has rusted
C) There is a break/short in the cable between the antenna and the head unit.
The AM tuner will pick up a signal even if the fender antenna is disconnected simply due to the properties of AM radio. But the FM tuner won't unless you're right on top of the transmitter.

I have the same issue and have replaced the entire antenna as well as the cable. Still terrible fm reception. I even replaced all the grounds on the entire truck and ran a new one for the radio.
