Thanks Man we went and practiced a little sunday and i went on curb once and rubbed it once then a little far out twice then like 1 or 2 times it was perfect

It's easy man, don't stress over it. Out here the woman just told me to go into a culdesac, back around a corner and then we were done lol. No parallel parking, none of that. Maybe it's different in Maine, idk. But I personally find parallel parking really easy. When I had my 78 F250 Supercab Long bed (thing was like 21 feel long) I'd parallel park it pretty easily, so the Dakota is cake.

Good luck, when I did my parallel parking I was to far out but she still passed me.

Thanks guy's and yea but I'm sure since you guys have gone they have boosted the standards because of all the young drivers being killed in car accidents.

if parallel parking is the only thing you messed up you will be fine, and alot of it depends on how picky the guy is too.... dont stress it too much and you will do fine. I did terrible on the parallel parking, even sped a few times(i guess 28 in a 25 is still technically speeding but whatever) but i still passed no problem.

and zach, at least around here you get a point marked down for pulling it forward... gotta just back it in perfect with no adjustments.

Yea i hope so but another thing is looking over my shoulder when backing and switching lanes see i have been taught since i was about 5 to use my mirrors always because my dad was a trucker and thats just how he would show me

congrats! told ya you had nothing to worry about:D

I know this was a couple months ago but I just caught it.. They can not mark you off for pulling forward, because you HAVE to pull forward. It is part of the parallel parking process. Unless you are driving some euro mini-fartmobile, you have to back in beyond the center of the space in order for the front to clear the car in the space infront of you.

I can see them marking you off if you have to hit reverse a second time, but to expect a new driver to do a precision parallel park without pulling forward is absurd.
