I would have told the cop to prove it. if not go fuck himself. No proof no evidence no case. Ive gotten out of many tickets because they think they can get me on bootleggin or other personal crimes. FUCK EM

They do that here too, but NJ doesnt have that law. But he could've been nailed for careless driving which is $300+2 points.

and the vid will show the cop up my ass, even if he was running my plate he was tailgating me which is illegal on his part. and yes, i admit i was wrong on the merge and the insurance. the whole obstructed view is just 2 douchebag cops busting my balls for no reason.

In my area there is almost always a second cop that shows up for any traffic stop. The first cop will usually wait for the second one to show up before approaching the vehicle. That is for their safety. The cop doesn't know if the driver is armed or not. The way society is today, being a cop is much more dangerous as it was years ago. There are a ton more people today that shoot anyone for no reason and think nothing of it.

In Denver, they just shoot you and then give you a ticket...lol In Boulder they make you huge a tree and if you don't huge it right they give you a ticket..lol It doesn't matter if you get your balls busted or anything of the sort.. You know you were wrong you owned up to it, Now,you fight it or pay it.. Don't bring mom into it!! She wasn't there and as upset as some people get that doesn't need to be said... That was wrong on every level!!!

Yeah and make sure you subpoena the cop's dash cam video to use as your "evidence" that the cop was tailgating you. That way the judge and everyone else whose time you are wasting can see the $300+2pt asshole maneuver that the "douchebag" let you skate on.

I'd gladly take fines over points any day. Fines sting for a day. Points sting for 3 years on your insurance. Keep that in mind too.

Cops are necissary for alot of reasons and we definitely need them. But around here they definatly focus a ton more on driving crimes that will bring in the most income( speeding) rather than actually improving safety. Shitty drivers are a huge concern around here because the police don't enforce any safe driving laws. Someone cuts you off or is driving in the left hand lane 20 under no fucks are given. But god forbid you drive 15 over on an abandon highway in the middle of the night with no one around. How are they protecting anyone's safety or rights?

I see both sides I can that you screwed up a bit and part of me would want to just pay it. But with how fucking Chincy they are with income laws around here I wouldn't second think trying to get out of paying it in the slightest. You know your wrong but do whatever you can to fight it

Since when is a air fresher illegal to hang on a rear-view mirror? If that's the case about 90% of the people in Texas need tickets. I see dice, CDs, Lanyards, Air Fresh things, Jewelery, College parking permits, Handicap signs, ect...

In Texas the law only addresses obstructed view due to an excessive number of front-seat passengers. NJ law does not make that distinction, and you are not allowed to have anything stuck to the windshield (except behind/above the rearview mirror) or hanging from the rearview that obstructs the view in any way. This includes air fresheners, CDs, dice, tassels, rosaries, dogtags, radar detectors, phone mounts, GPS's, and all of the other things people hang from the mirror or stick to the windshield. Even handicapped parking placards are not allowed to be left hanging while you drive.
