you can do a 52mm tb. its not going to hurt. the manifold design is whats supposed to help with the velocity on the airgap to keep low end torque. thats supposed to be why they use it.
its not gonna help without a tune and at least a convertor though....

Lots of people ran the 52MM TB and M1 combo with good results long before SCT was even a pipe dream.
Just befause itnworked doesnt mean that its getting all the power it can....between the fuel and timing maps you can make a LOT more power over a stock tune.....

I never said it was optimal, but he shouldn't have lost much low end with the Hughes airgap, and putting on a 52mm isn't going to make it any worse than what it already is as the 52MM TB will keep up with the flow of the intake better. If he really lost a lot of low end power then he has something else going on.

Thank fucking God the Delphi Forum was still up and running when I stated modding my truck, but then again I took the time to read. Because of that forum...

I new a 2bbl M1 would like a bigger than stock TB and better exhaust.
I knew a 2bbl M1 would require a B&G flash to get my low end back.
I knew B&G had a "M1 flash" just for the above mods.

And thanks to the forum I knew it was combo of parts, stall, gears, TB, M1, Exhaust, CAI, I even knew a TB spacer was junk.

And, thanks to HskrRT, I knew the 750.00 GiSM oil pan was a POS.

Don't people read anymore...? I took a 17 second stock truck into the 11s just by reading shit and knowing what to do...Uhm, and where to spend the big bucks.

A lot....:funny: I'm all motor, no power adder but I do plan to spray my way into the 10s after the final points race this year.

It's a dedicated race truck too, gutted and stripped. Weighs 3474 with me in it.

Well i think that the best thing would have been to bore the air entrence of the stock intake and a bigger tb.it just like my ford 5.0 it as equal long intake runner plenum and it as a lot of bottom end torque. Its probably wy every 400 hp stock new cars all have these kind of intake manifold
