I went and put my amber 1157 LED bulbs in the front and red 1157 LED bulbs in the rear...

when I turn my parking lights on, my little green arrows for the turn signals in the dash turn on about half bright

It's starting to really rain here now, so I packed it up and quit...

I'm thinking I got a bad ground connection up front somewhere?

Truck is a '94 Dakota Sport....

your thoughts?

yeah that would be my guess too - although it isn't necessarily the front. Rear would do it too. Check the resistance between the socket shells and the - battery terminal. It shouldn't be more than a few dozen ohms.

Otherwise the LEDs are leaking current and could be defective.

wait, you installed leds and didn't get hyper blinkers? Didn't even need load resistors? I installed leds in mine with load resistors and the damn turn signals only worked on 2 front bulbs, and the tail lights only worked with the turn signals and braking, not even for normal driving. without the load resistors I had hyper blinkers... I'd love to have a dim dash light, lol. Let me know your secret, haha.

oh wait, I just realized what you were saying... mine did that too... It has something to do with less load in the system or something, so it has to burn off the excess power some where else. My HIDs do that as well.

No secret, you install an EP-27 electronic flasher. You can do that up to 2000, no resistors needed.

The turn indicators lighting indicates a backfeed condition - which is usually an indicator of a bad ground but it could be leaking through the LEDs if they're defective or 'loose tolerance'.

I installed an ep-27 flasher and my signals wouldn't work at all
Was it an "LED approved" electronic one? EP-27 just refers to the terminal layout. If it's not an LED flasher it wont work.

so, this relay, I'm assuming thats what the EP-27 is, does it just replace the stock relay or how does it work?
It's a regulated-rate electronic flasher that replaces the stock one - it's basically the same thing just without the 'bulb out' detector. It' up on the back side of the dash fuse panel - a real pain in the ass to get to.

Yeah that's about what I paid, IIRC. And yeah the L is for LED.

my blinkers work normal...I have had electronic turn signal flasher in there since I got the truck....off the rack at auto part store for around $10

I'm inclined to agree with Taz....I think I got a defective set of LED's for the front....and it's back-feeding up through the turn signal circuit when I turn on the parking lights...it only happens with the LED's in the front...I still got the red LED's in the rear for park-turn bulbs

It's supposed to rain here all week...I'll probably mess with it this Sunday...I got the stock bulbs in the front for now...I just didn't feel like working in the rain on this

You could just splice a diode into each turn signal lead, that would block the backfeed..

toward the firewall. You have to stuff your hand up between the fuse box and e-brake. It's a square module.
