Really?!?! then shit, the picture looks really bright.

It's just overexposed. He took it with his cell phone - phone cameras are horrible for low light/high contrast shots.

yea a little too bright, and Taz you fuckin sig is hilarious. rep to you haha
:D :D :D

well then, looks good.....stupid cell phones :(

Okay to start off i have a 98 dakota sport i just finished replacing the 194's behind the cluster . but i looked every i cant find the bulb size the behind the Hvac system someone please help . if you can post ebay links for where i can get the bulbs and the bases i'd appreciate it thanks ! aswell did anyone do luminated cup holders ?

superbrightleds.com doesnt have them? thats hard to believe, and no no one has done cup holders yet that I know of. bulbs and bases should be on that site

I think he means he can't figure out what size they are. We discussed that about 10 pages back, so cant blame him for not finding it in the thread.. :)

They are 4mm neo-wedge base. Use the standard ones, not the ultra-brights, and take a piece of sandpaper and 'frost' the LED to better distribute the light. http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-bin/store/index.cgi?action=DispPage&Page2Disp=/instrument.html

Cupholders.. Are you asking about the bulb size for the cupholder light (I can't remember if 98 was one of the years that had it) or are you asking if anyone added one?

^ ahhh yes, that would make a little more sense lol

Okay, bumping this thread to see if anyone else has had the same problem as me...

Ie gone through two full sets of instrument cluster LEDs since I did mine....they work okay for a week, then they start to flicker, then they burn out. I have not even one working now, again, for the second time. Wondering what's going on??? This is very annoying.

there has to be some sort of reglation problem with the voltage. I havent had a problem at all and its been about 5 months maybe 6.

what yea is yours? you might have to place resistors in line with the LEDs. Taz would be able to shed more light on this

yea. PM taz or wait till he shows back up here later and see what he says. I know he has a 00 Durango too.

yea ive seen those. idk how wiring would be though for that

Where'd you get the LEDs from? If they're the kind that we've been talking about that simply plug into the 194 socket, then they're designed to run on 12-14v and don't require any additional resistors. The ones I bought from V-LEDs have been in for almost 4 years now with no issues. If you used the ones Cody linked to on Amazon, we may now know what makes them so dirt cheap. Only other thing I can think of is you have a severe overvoltage condition in your truck, but that would cause all sorts of other problems way before it burned out your LEDs.
