thinking about getting a 50 series muffler.. any comments?? i want a louder muffler with out the whole exhaust system. will just the muffler give me that and is the 50 series a good sound? apprecaite any comments.

My sentiments exactly. sound to tin can-ish to me. I just changed a Flow 50 to a Magnaflow and like the sound much better. Nice tone about the same as far as loud but NOT tinny... JMO

I dont know about any other of the newer flowmaster series, but the super44 has strengthening beads/bends in the V-pieces that may attest to differing sound output. (aside from the rest of the normal chambered differences)

Does the super 44 give me more hp and less back pressure?? Will it change the mpg enough I should think about doing it sooner? Thanx for the comments and ive been lookin at some magnaflows and think the flowmaster has a lil more muscle sound it's more what I'm lookin for

I had a 50 series (16" long) on the '92 5.2 RC. It was OK, but I eventually went to the 70 series (22"), which had less interior resonance. I've had a Flow 70 before on my '01 4.7, but now have a Magnaflow 22", which has a deeper tone and the straight-thru design. I don't intend to ever buy another Flowmaster; just my preference.
