I'm planning on installing a Tuff Country 5.5 inch lift on my 98 Dak ext cab, 4x4, and i was hoping to clear 35's. The tuff country site says that you can fit 33's with the lift, but this seems ridiculous as i have 31's stock. Anybody got pics of their dakotas with the susp lift and 35's? Sure would appreciate it!

99 Dak + 3" Rancho lift + stock wheels = 35x12.50s with only trimming to the fender skirt.

35x14.50 Boggers don't fit quite as good though lol.

I agree. I really dig his truck too. I just don't like those front and rear lights on any Dakota.

I bought a set off ebay years ago, had them on my truck for 10 min and took them off. They don't fit worth a damn. The only aftermarket light I like are the clear corners.

I think I found a 4.5 and a 6" for the 05 on airbagit.com
And someone told me that tough country makes one if a mechanic orders it. But that sounds a bit rediculas and I'm goof tocheck in on that after work today so I'll let yall know

Going back to stock with a suspension lift kit is hard to do, especially since you have to do some modifications to fit the Tough Country kit.
Cheaper to have TC make replacement parts for their kits instead of saying to the owners they are SOL.

Air bag it kits are junk.

Why does a mechanic need to order it? Thats odd

Thats what i hear about air bag it, but i can only find reviews on their air kits, nothing on their suspension lifts.
just curious, how do you know they are junk? thought the reviews on their air kits is making me hesitant.

and i checked with rough country and they just said wtf are you talking about. it sounded to odd to be true, but never hurts to check

My friend had bought one.

No instructions, brackets didnt line up, by the time he was done it was 2000 bucks. No lateral compression bars to support the front end. Drop shackles in the rear brought the leafs more then halfway down the tires and looked like shit think he was missing stuff also. Turned into almost a month to get everything done.

You cant buy parts straight from tuff country unless your a dealer. Suspension comnection is where i got my stuff. Any tuff country dealer will be able to get the parts. I shopped around to find the lowest prices.

Tough Country doesn't make a lift for the 05+ Daks, only option you've got is to run a 2" leveling kit with the 3" body lift on top of it, or either of those by itself.

I ain't callin you a liar, but I just don't buy it man. If air bag it makes a 4.5" suspension, why dosnt anyone else? Is it just lack of demand? Or is there something about the 05' design that makes it impossible?
And why couldn't I just buy a part here and a part there to create one?
Sorry for the dumb question, but I haven't had a lift since I was 17 and that truck was lifted when I bought it.
