The 05 dakota 2wd im looking at they say has a front wheel bearing gone in it. Now here is wat i noticed test driving it today
The wheel will turn but seems to loosen then tighten again when turning, is this the bearing, also i did look some and nothing described these symptoms
how much would it cost to replace, and does the whole hub need to be replaced? or is it a tie-rod end?

Thanks, I have only been driving for around 9-10 months. So I dont know to much yet.

Who is "they"?

You can test it yourself by jacking up the wheel, grabbing onto the tire at 3 & 9 o'clock and repeatedly push/pull. Then grab it at 12 & 6 o'clock and repeatedly push/pull. If it moves, try to see where its moving. If you can't see anything moving (e.g. upper & lower ball joints, inner & outer tie rods), then its the wheel bearing. Good luck...

"they" as in the owners of the truck, thats what the mechanic at ford told them when they were going to trade it in on there new escape.

Are you buying from the owners, or a dealer? If a dealer, then make them fix it before you buy it. If the owner, then I'd pass.

its not a dealer, but i think its still a deal

2005 Club Cab
92,000km
for $8500cnd

me and my dad have only found a few like it but they are $10,000+cnd

You often get what you pay for… But if your willing to fix it up, then cool. Just don't be surprised if there are other hidden issues. It may become a money pit and end up costing more then $10k+ in the long run. Good luck...
