Okay, couple things. Posting here because obviously I have a GenII. Firs thing, the speed doesn't work well until the tranny warms up. When it's cold the guage will sit on zero and sometimes bounce up a little bit. This also causes the tranny to not shift into OD, and kick down under decel early. Then it will slowly start working. Bouncing around more frequently and finally being accurate after a while. When i first got the truck the speedo worked fine, but now it's doing this. I have replaced both the rear ABS sensor and the VSS in the transfer case(4x4). This is very annoying as I am trying to sell the truck and with the speedo not working, nobody wants to buy it.
Second issue. Under acceleration, there is a metal clunking sound, but only under acceleration. Can't really tell where the sound is coming from and you can only hear it when there is a wall or another car next to you for the sound to bounce off of. It definitely sounds like something in the driveline as it's a steady clunking like the driveshaft or something in the tranny/transfer case spinning and hitting once on each revolution.
