Well I haven't talked much about the 10g lately so here is a few new pictures. For some reason I really suck at taking pictures on this new camera (Kodak Z950). Oh well here is what I would come up with:

FTS(actinics)(Can you see all the tiny white worms on the back wall?):

That's a frag rack. Not really sure why he put it there though. It's not much closer to the light like frag racks usually are. Perhaps he's keeping them there till he decides where to put them

Well I just put the tiny frag rack in to hold the frags up and away from my hermits picking at them.
Before I got the rack I had them setting in the sand. I dont like them in the sand because they kept falling over, hermits kept picking at them, and I kept getting a weird sponge thing growing on them. I had to physically pull off the sponge because the zoa wouldnt open. I didnt put the rack for height.

I have a 30 gallon system (15gal refugium/10gal display/5 gal display)... evolved from a basic setup over the past couple years same corals. The mantis shrimps have to be separated or they will kill each other, and they kill absolutely everything in the tank as is (minus the coral)

SMD500MXZ is that a coral beauty and a damsel in a 10g?
How well did that work out? I have always wanted a coral beauty in my tank.
I think I will have to ditch my damsel though because it is VERY VERY aggressive! I can swipe my glass cleaner by it and it will try to attack the cleaner!
Its cool with my shrimp though.

Also I like how your Xenia has spread though out your tank. It probably bugs you like it does everyone else but I like it.
I have had tiny frag of Xenia in my tank for about 4 months already and it hasn't grown much. I would like mine like yours.
Should I place my power-head like yours in the middle? Looks like its working out good for you.
I have mine on the right back corner of my tank.

You have any more details on your 5g?
I would like my 2.5g to look similar to that someday.

Read the entire Nano reef thread for details. The Damsel and Coral Beauty were great partners, but eventually the Mantis Shrimp picked them both off and they became food like everything else alive in the displays.

The 5g is the old light from the 10g (130w PC) and is only fed by the return pump from the sump. All 3 tanks recirculate through the sump. 5g->sump, 10g->sump, seperately. Not 5g->10g->sump etc. However, it's all the same "30 gallon" system.

Those 2 fish were the direct cause in my opinion of my tank crash. Once they were gone I could handle cleaning the system myself (no clean up crew, the Mantis kills them.)

Also the stuff I have growing is Anthelia. Xenia usually pulses, I have a little bit in the dead center of my 10g display. I've had it about 4-5 different times and at least 2-3 strains, I can not for the life of me get the stuff to survive. The Anthelia, however, grows roughly 1"-2"(the mat, base) a month. I literally throw it in the garbage, no one around here wants it, even free.

Well I screwed around with my New iPod Nano 5G with the camera and my new laptop to make a video of my tank.
The tank is a mess!
I'll make a better vid again soon. After the next water change.

Nice video. Keep an eye on those star polyps and xenia. They'll take over the rockwork in a hurry if they aren't controlled.

Well I found a tiny little star fish peaking out of my Koralia 1 powerhead mounding area.
This star fish is about the size of a Dime if not smaller.
I have never seen this star fish ever! Today was the first time ever!
It must have been in there for a while because of the size?
Honestly the only thing I can think of this star fish coming from is either the LR or LS when I got the tank first set up.

Is the star fish good or bad?

(Sorry for the bad pictures and messy tank)

Quick questions:
Could the star fish bad?

In picture 2 what is the red stuff on my Koralina 1 and intake tube?
I try to rub it but its hard algae. I am assuming its some kind of Coraline Algae?

In pictures 5-6 what are those little bumps on my rock?
I have them all over the place. Some are opened already and some are not opened yet.
Maybe some kind of eggs?

I will really appreciate any help!

as far as i know the starfish is harmless, they are just little sand sifters, the green bubbles, im not 100% sure what they are i have had some in my tank and my local fish store told me to buy a emerald crab. the crab has eaten most of these bubbles but not a few on my pvc pipes.

1)asterina star. generally harmless
2)looks like coraline
3)nerite snail eggs, they are all over my rocks. Don't get too excited, they young won't survive the larval stage
