Don't forget to use indirect heating to cook the chicken otherwise you might burn the hell out of it.

I use my Weber charcoal kettle grill to cook beer can chicken. Form the charcoal into a circle and fire it up. When white I add a few more briquettes and place the chicken in the middle. Let cook for an hour and a half and BAM!!! Nothing beats beer can chicken cooked over charcoal.

Well I need to try this when the weather gets better. I might use Dr pepper first. So I dont waste the bear. I have a Gas Grill...
oh its only one can of brew :rotflmao:

It won't have an overpowering beer taste. It just imparts some flavor and helps keep it from drying out as much.

I finally made one of these...turned out great for about 2 hours in the oven at about 350*

How much Beer is still in the can when its done with the indirect method?

I used Miller High Life...don't make fun of me. It was cheap!!! I got a 12 pack of bottles for 6 bucks, ended up pouring the beer out of a bottle into an empty mountain dew can...

Budweiser. or bust.
You don't have to tell that to either of us! HAHA! We get down with some Budweiser...ask anyone from Carlisle last year, and here's a random wrenching pic...where's walddo???

Last time I did it, I didn't have a stand, so I took an old mayo jar, label removed, filled it half full of beer (don't remember brand, just some cheap shit used to boil shrimp!), then seasoned the chicken inside and out with some Jamaican Jerk Rub, and shoved that jar up the chicken butt! Jar was big enough to hold the chicken up on the grill, and it turned out great.

Wow, I'd never put a glass jar on a grill. I'm surprised it didn't shatter as soon as you set it in the grill.
