Speaker Thing

I've got an 02 Durango with the infinity system. Finding speakers has REALLY gotten me down. I need all 4 midranges (BLOWN like an Iraqi Bunker). I dont want to put 2 ways in there place because all my tweeters are good (Infinity 6022) . I cant find anything (in a working man's price-range) that will work. Does ANYONE have any suggestions? Replacing the HU and or AMP are out of the question due to monetary concearns.

Then you need to ask someone here for there old speakers. They are out there. You have to search on Google for 2ohm 6.5 inch infinity speakers.

I just replased mine with eclipes 6.5's. Sound great. They are three way speakers. What I had to do was cut out the old speaker and just leave the base that screws into the door. Then with a drill, open up a hole for all 4 or 3 mounting points and use screws to secure it into the trim ring. I used a dremel to cut out the speaker base. Have to rip apart the speaker to see what I mean, but probably junk anyway. The ohms should not matter to much really. Mine sound better than stock.

Would the Infinity Reference 6022si work out or 6020cs be a good option for doors?

I'm shopping to replace my speakers as they are now no longer sounding so well....

Have you ordered/found anything yet?

when i got my Rango some TOOL had replace the infinity's with the walmart Roadmasters, so I had to replace them asap. I went with the Pioneer 4-ways ($50 for 2)from walmart and they dont sound bad, but I never got to hear the infinity's. I do have a Kenwood HU and waiting for Boomin5.9 to make up my bypass for the stock amp. Of course I also have 2-12's in the rear which over powers them

I put in some nice sony 6.5s and the sounded like crap, very quiet due to the amp wanting less resitance (2 Ohm) I dont think im going to have any choice but use the 6022's.

I just ordered the Infinity's I linked to above... as they are 2ohm, they should work dandy as replacements. and I'm hoping they'll work just as well when I replace the HU next month.

Do you still have the stock HU? You could try bypassing the amp if you have an aftermarket HU installed...that would remove the 2ohm issues?

Get the 2 ohm speakers from above. Both are gonna work. Maybe your amp is out? I'm going to get rid of everything and put all new stuff in mine. I would go with those if you aren't gonna change everything out.

I replaced my stock speakers in my '99 R/T with Rainbow components in the door and coaxials in the rear running through the stock amp and they sounded just fine.
