It would also help if we knew how much of a gain that intake would be over ther other intakes.
I agree.... but again, If you can get a close look at the new intake next to ANY of the older ones you will clearly see that the 2008 is a better design.

Time will tell and bring actual performance numbers but I will predict noticable gains right out of the box and I would not be surprised if there was a 15-20HP gain over the 2003 intake alone.

Its only a matter of time before we start seeing REAL DYNO/TRACK numbers.

you can give one to me and I'll track test it for you while your gone

without trying to be a dick, but really? 15-20hp over top of the 03 intake alone? so, if i have a 00 intake, then i can expect 20-25hp by replacing a factory intake manifold with a factory intake manifold? i know you have yet to pull any dyno numbers, but damn: that's a HUGE point to boast.

Well since I have not tested it I can not speak FACTS... I can and will admit that I have no idea what it will make. I do know and understand FLOW and intake design a bit and visually I can see the newer 2008 intake is a much better design over the 2003 intake. And knowing much of the 2008 4.7L performance gains came from the new Intake/Heads/Cams. This intake is a key reason the new 4.7L is able to make over 300+HP

I predict the 2008 intake will out perform the 2003 intake no questions asked. Will it be 15-20HP... My guess is it will be close, but its my guess and opinion based on my experience with other intakes and my understanding of air flow and threory of opperation.

Time will only tell, but Im sure it will be a key mod for those who are looking for the top performance edge with a factory intake manifold. This will be a good mod to have.

$35-$45 for shipping that is also alot there, i got shaft rockers and push rods shipped for $20 less than that. And there isnt any way that the plastic intake out weighs that.
LOL... We ship stuff all day long at $5.00 coast to coast... but thats in a small 6"x12" box and only $50.00 insurance. It would be nice if the intake fit into that box because it would be super cheap... Unfortunately the intake is in a HUGE box and its not cheap for me or even you to ship.

Also the Intake & Adapters will ship from different locations... so thats TWO packages shipping not one. So if anything I have guestamated the shipping LOW not HIGH. There are several factors that come into play when shipping.

A big box cost more to ship then a small box. Its ALWAYS cheaper to put everything in one box to ship... but thats not possible in this case and the intake and adapters ship from two different locations. Its easy to sit on the outside and try to poke holes into somones business when dont have all the details.

You also need to consider the additional cost of insurance ($575.00) So unfortunalely even though every one feels like they can do better and get everything they see for free some place else... the fact is, nothing is free! So if you can get it free... go get it, its crazy how some people just assume things and act as though they are some sort of expert.

Now that shipping is done... lets talk R&D... That the most expensive part. That needs to be paid. We paid it up front... and I would like to make some of my investment back somtime in the near future so we can bring more new mods to the 4.7L community.

Again, why would we offer rock bottom prices on everything on the site and then somhow try to over price a new product we want to get out to the 4.7L crowd.

I understand you guys want these parts cheaper... honestly at this time we can not get much cheaper without a LARGE GP order. I need to buy in bulk to make them any cheaper. This is our cost at 5 complete sets at at time, they include the custom throttle cable bracket and needed hardware.

Although the price is a bit high... I admit it, it is high but as low as we can make it and still make a small proffit when the dust settles.

This is why i went with LA on my project, not dissing the new stuff but damn it cost alot more then old school lol

And no i didnt even think of insurance, i was also thinking of the weight factor. Not to much on the size part. What size do you have to ship it in?

I wonder if the 08+ 4.7 heads will bolt up to the previos blocks? I guess my question would be, are the 08+ blocks identical to the previous years?
The heads are different but I'm fairly sure the bolt pattern is the same. I hope to bolt a set up and take a look at them shortly after I return from Iraq. The Cams are different, as the 2008 cams are the same part number for either side where as the pre-2008 cams have 2 different part numbers for Left/Right side. This leads me to believe the cam sprockets are different. The question would be, Will the 2008 cam sprockets line up with the older chains or will a new 2008 timing set be needed? It could be a domino effect... again time will tell and we plan to have answers in the near future.

I'm guessing the blocks are the same... I'm not sure if they have improved upon the 3 the dowels that locate the bed plate or not... Under factory power they are fine but there have been reports that under heavy loads 450+ with stock bolts the bed plate has been blamed for shifting. Of course a set of ARP studs would go a long way in preventing this anomaly but it would be nice to see if they addressed it.

The new heads are dual plug heads, do the plugs fire sequentially? That could make the swap a little simpler in that area also. A guy on another forum and I talked extensively about swapping the whole assembly, not just the heads. Questions arose about the tone ring, and the aformentioned firing of the spark plugs. Obviously the TB was something we didn't take into consideration.

Shit, I'd do it. I would get mine dyno'd the way it sits now with just an intake to see what numbers I'm putting down. Then I would install this and dyno it again. I might start saving up now......:D

Here are a few more pictures of the 2008-2009 4.7L Intake Manifold mounted to an old school (1999-2007) 4.7L engine... Pictures shown with complete kit to include the two piece adapter and throttle body bracket. As you can see this is a high quality, clean set up.

If there are any questions please feel free to contact me.
