This is my wife's newest one. Got it when she finished her Master's at Montana State.

When I find the pic of mine I'll post it.

Question though: About two weeks ago I lost my wedding ring. No clue where, it's just always been there, and I woke up one morning and it was gone. But we have talked in the past about getting tattoo wedding rings, and now the subject has obviously come up again. Any recommendations? If we do it, what do we get tattooed? I was looking at those ambigrams earlier and they look pretty sweet, and I think that's what we would go with in some form or another. But, do I just get the one of her name, where it says the same things upside down? Or do we have a custom one made with both of our names together? Or I found a pretty sweet one with our two kid's names together (we're done, no more kids...). And hell, can they get those detailed enough when they are shrunk down small enough to put on a finger? Is that enough questions?

Honestly unless you have Paul Bunyan sized fingers, anything besides a simple design will end up looking like crap. It might look fine when you first get it done, but a few days/weeks later the ink will start to bleed and any detail will be lost.

Does the ink bleed any more on fingers than on any other tattoo? And my fingers aren't tiny, but no Paul Bunyan. I think my rings are size 11.

I don't think it will bleed anymore than any other part. Your ring size may be an 11 but I doubt your wife's that big. You have to factor that in as well.

It's got to do more with the inability to take care of a tat on your finger. You would need to be constantly moisturizing and it will still get blurry looking quickly. Hands are generally dry and the skin flakes off pretty rapidly. I have a sleeve on my left arm, and because I am always leaning on my elbows the tats are visably worn on the point of my elbow. It will stay looking as good as possible if you take care of it, but you won't be able to get enything very intricate at all...

When I was in Ireland I was going to get a very simple celtic design in place of my wedding ring, but I couldn;t get any seat time... Be realistic about what will look good in the long run.

that couldn't be more true
IMO,in relation to this and the comment that lead to this one: If you follow this law of the Old Testament, then you must follow them all. This was true in the Old Testament but when Jesus came, the law was done away with and HE taught in the New Testament what should be followed. So, if you want to live like they did in the Old Testament, then you should also stone your children to death outside the gates of the city when they disobeyas well as all the other laws they had then. The New Testament tells us that if we believe it's a sin and it goes against our conscience, then we shouldn't do it. And, what might feel like a sin to you, might not to someone else. Of course, some people have no conscience.

just curious, but hass anybody found work harder to get with tatoos? I know when I worked at Disneyland, you couldn't have long hair or tattoos.
Mine are all covered and only viewed if I show someone or wear a bathing suit. And, believe me, I am not gonna be working somewhere where I have to wear a bathing suit! :funny: So, in answer to your ?, nope.

religious tattoos are an oxymoron,
WTF are you talking about...tattooing is a form of expression...a way of showing or telling others things about who or what you are. its like a first impression.....some like it some dont....and as for those that do have religious tatoo's....they could have gotten it because something or someone made a difference in their life and they chose to make a visual of it to remind them.

hell i have a tattoo of a devil betty boop......its betty cause i like her.....but its a devil to remind me that temptation is a reality and of what i could easily become if i dont use my head
