This site used to have a formal tattoo/piercing thread, I guess it fell by the wayside at some point and reached the age where an old post purge knocked it offline. I'm gonna start a new one and sticky it...

This tattoo has my kids' initials, the red/blue/red shading indicates girl/boy/girl. It's not too big, just wanted something basic for the kids. My oldest daughter's nickname was "sunshine", hence the use of a sun.

Nice tat', Steve! I've just got a couple of dumb prison tattoos. I DID get my ear pierced when I was FIVE, after rounding Cape Horn in a small boat with my father (this was EONS ago). When I finally went to school in the States at eight, I was the ONLY kid with a pierced ear (girls included). That was worth some ass whoopings...lol

My son is going through the same routine - his older sister decided to get a 2nd piercing in each ear last year, so he asked if he could get his left ear pierced as well. My ex and I didn't see anything wrong with it, my left ear is pierced but I haven't worn an earring in a very long time (was an 80's heavy metal thing). Unfortunately he caught a lot of shit over it at school for the first year, but I think that was mostly bullies, they will use anything as an excuse to be shitheads to other kids.

One of my co-workers wrapped up his half sleeve last night, will see if I can get some pictures when it's all healed up - took 28 hours overall to complete.

Imagine being eight years old in the SIXTIES with a pierced ear. It was rare to see a girl younger than her late teens with piercings. There were no men with earings, save gypsies & pirates...LOL

I'm contemplating making this my next tat, except I don't like the furl - would leave the flag "flat" with a slight wave to the stripes.

Edit: Added 2nd pic to take the furl out of the flag, but left the stripes straight for now for comparison.
