Most vehicles stock for stock, the manual is faster, a built auto will school a manual any time though. I don't like slushboxes personally but we can all agree this guy is a trolling tool.

It makes a lot of sense. I think I've seen that truck before, too. He's from MD, so perhaps he grew up in VA and knows the 757 area or something. He really does have a 318 5 speed that'll go mid 12's and I wouldn't be surprised if it had 290+whp. I'm really curious to see if it's him LOL if so that's fucking awesome.
race cars use auto because of consistency...they will basically always shift at the same exact rpm...
and if i recall.....the manuals with an experienced drive is maybe only 2/10ths faster in the 1/4

The way I see it...if you can take a stock z06 and run 11's with it...the auto vs. manual debate just doesn't even matter. Also, aren't there Vipers in the sub 10 second range with the t56???
alot of guys that have the money to do it switch to an auto....powerglide i think...but they say it will eat 100 hp easy in drivetrain loss...but the perfect shifting is more than worth it for the track.

Ya, even someone using a t56 in a car that fast probably has it modified quite a bit to be able to do so...
i believe that car is with a stock t-56
i cant remeber exactly how a trannies power is rated...but i vaguely remember (and saldy cant find it to verify) is that the HP/TQ rating is in the final gear.
so say a TKO is 600HP/TQ...to actually use 600 HP/TQ with a .64 gear...thats pretty hard to do

That makes sense...for something that is only rated at 600hp there sure seems to be plenty of fast ass sports cars with probably 1000hp/tq or so that aren't having any issues. That 1000hp/tq is based on a 3rd gear pull not the 5th or 6th gear.
