Started tearing it apart a little early so I can take my time and clean it up a little. We made a tent to do the swap in with light and a propane heater...

thats strange...i thought that the t56 was shorter than the autos...i know it was way shorter than my 545.....but i didnt have to move my cross member. i just used half of my original mount and then a universal style one that was like the factory viper one...though i do need to add in a 1/2" or so spacerI moved it towards the back of the truck.
Im pretty sure the stock tranny went past the corssmember quite a bit further. The t56 only goes past the the crossmember a few inches.thats strange...i thought that the t56 was shorter than the autos...i know it was way shorter than my 545.....but i didnt have to move my cross member. i just used half of my original mount and then a universal style one that was like the factory viper one...though i do need to add in a 1/2" or so spacer
good point. My stock drive shaft is about 69" I need a 74 9/16" one now.maybe the 4.7 trans setup is different than the 5.2/5.9?
edit...i have no clue on the 4.7 stuff, i really pay no attention to it
I had the stock 5.9 trans so yes the t56 is 5-9/16 shorter. I think its pretty light. I can pick it up with no problem but thats without a flywheel, pressure plate or clutch.hmm so its (the trans) 5-9/16 shorter too...which trans did you have in there before?
Its called pc7. Im putting a second layer on so it will be less noticable with teh carpet.got enough bondo
Awesome! Have you looked into RAAMaudio mat? I highly suggest laying a layer down on the entire floor, and walls of the cab...makes a HUGE difference! :mullet:Its called pc7. Im putting a second layer on so it will be less noticable with teh carpet.
