OK here we go...

I bought my 2000 Dodge Dakota 5.9 R/T last year. All this time i have thought it to be bone stock, and i have done nothing to it at all. So i come on here and read what kind of 1/4 mile times you guys are running. And to be honest, i was disapointed. Ive seen alot of guys with a decent amount of mods on there trucks and they say "Ohh i think i might hit into the 14s tonight !!!" Ok i dont know if altitude has that BIG of an impact but i ran my truck about a week ago down in Baytown, Texas (Houston, Texas area)...which would be at sea level. Thinking my truck is bone stock and the fact that this is the very first time i have ever ran anything down a track i ran a...RT of .466...1/4 mile 15.011 @ 92.04...

I wrote all this to ask...

Does my truck sound stock with the numbers that i have given you?

Sure, why not. Baytown can be a really fast track when the weather cooperates.

with that mph you should be solidly in the mid 14s.
Id say yours is not stock. Might have a different axle ratio or throttle body or rockers or flashed computer... something. Aint no way a "as it left the factory" stock RT is hitting 92mph unless your track is down hill. Or you've got a wednesday truck.
What's a Wednesday truck? And why is it called that? Also, is it better than say a Thursday truck and if so, how do you get one?

wednesday is halfway through the week not still hungover from the weekend but not half-assin trying to get out on friday the absolute perfect day to get work done to bad everyday is monday for me

How much did Kooks charge you to fab up headers? Are they stainless??
A place real close to my house called "G-Force" (which actaully spec. in LS motors) said they would do the whole set up from ordering it all in to dynoing right after its done for $1300

sounds about right for stock,,there have been a few that cracked 14's stock and duner even busted off a high 13 stock using a lifetime of experience and a few old racer tricks..
one thing you want to be aware of with your mods,,at first it will seam like your not making any progress and you could get a little dissappointed but if you hang in there it will show up.. that 12.7 in my sig is at HRP and that is with the usual mods most people do stock bottom end and a really screwed tranny.. not a fast time by any means but it shows that there is hope..
Duner busted off a high 13 stock??? Damn, I wanna know his secrets...:waiting:

read post 17.

also. fiberglass hood, bumper, take the spare out when you race it. take the factory jack out too. (shed a little bit of weight). run an electric fan, take off your stock one. (dont recall if you said you did this yet or not..)

just a few i found on ebay...

id like to do this too, but i have to wait and see how this settlement goes for my accident first. also, with you being in texas, and it getting hella hot down there (i know, i lived there during the summer back in 1998 when my dad was on his death bed)...may want to get a small aux one in front of the rad just in case. but id get the dual 11 or dual 12 (whichever one will fit), and then see how it goes.
