Well my trucked has been destroyed. A lady hydro-planed through a redlight, while I was on my way to work Tuesday morning and devoured my truck. I just hope they total it, I'm worried they won't. It has massive damage to the front end, front right fender, some damage to left front fender (no impact there but driver door only opens about 10 inches), a crease in the right body side of the bed (no impact but I guess it might be a crumple zone or from frame flexing), driver's side air bag deployed (cab filled with dust and an awful smell), the rear driver's side backseat was folded up and now will not fold down (no impact on that side but must have warped / bent/ twisted the cab). Not to mention coffee spilled and cigarette burned the seat after impact.
I have never been in a wreck, so I don't know what to expect. Her insurance was dragging their feet until yesterday evening, while the waited on the accident report. So hopefully they will look at it soon and let me know something. I'm really worried about the extras I've put on the truck (tool box, nerf bars, & chrome bug shield). I hope if they total it, that I'm able to get enough value out of it to cover my add-ons.
Anyone got some info. that might relate?
Luckily, thanks to a solid truck, an airbag, & a seatbelt: I'm ok, other than some air bag burns on my arm and various bruising.
