Hey guys this is my first post in quite some time.

A couple of days ago my windshield wiper squirters stopped working all of a sudden, like no fluid what so ever. I could hear some humming, but not the standard humming sound the washer pump makes. It sounds like it's coming from the air pump next to the power distribution box near the battery. The noise was definitely on the driver side of the engine bay.

I figured I'd just toss in a new washer pump, but that didn't fix it. The odd humming sound I hear when I press the washer button isn't all the time either. Somtimes I'll press it and won't hear anything, while other times it will hum. Fuses are all good, so was just wondering if any of you guys had a similar issue.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

The pump you're describing near the battery is is the Evap pump and is no way associated with the washer pump. Check for cracked hoses attached to the washer pump.

I know that pump is the leak detection pump, but the noise I was hearing was coming right from that area. Pretty odd to be honest. All hoses are fine by the way. Sometimes nothing happens at all sound wise too. Was just curious if someone else had the same issue. It has to be some sort of common problem for these trucks

How was the fuse when you checked and reseated it?
Was there power to the fuse location?

Fuse had power going across both pins after I put it back in.

I tried to attach the sound clip of the noise that happens when I press the washer button. It won't show up on this thread for some reason though

Do you have power to, and through the switch?
So here's an update on the issue. That odd sound I heard was actually coming from the horn. It was faint and sounded NOTHING like the normal horn.

Also, the connector for the washer pump has 12v on both pins until the washer button is pressed, then one is switched to ground to get 12v across both pins. That SHOULD make the pump work, but it does not. I can get the pump to work by giving it 12v directly, but not through the factory wiring. Chrysler has used switched grounds for just about everything and is definitely a pain in the rear.

What's odd is the 2nd pin does switch to a ground when it's supposed to and shows 12v on my meter, yet the pump doesn't work as it should. The pump makes a faint sound as well as the horn. I'm assuming there's an issue with the wiring. Whether it's a cracked or broken ground somewhere, I'm not sure. I'll look around to see if something is broken or missing. The ground could be partially broken, which would be enough to show a ground on my meter but does not have enough continuity to power the pump.

At this point I may just put a relay in and rewire it myself.

Not having wiper squirters sucks!
